FactoryTalk Services Platform is the common services backbone for FactoryTalk-enabled industrial applications. It centralizes core functions—such as directory and user management, security with Windows integration, licensing/activation, diagnostics and logging, data and live data services, alarms and events, and audit trails—so multiple software products can interoperate reliably in a distributed control system.
Designed for scalability, it supports everything from single-station installations to multi-site deployments. By standardizing shared services, it simplifies installation and maintenance, enforces consistent security and access control, and streamlines connectivity to controllers and devices. The platform also provides system health monitoring, time synchronization, and tools that aid troubleshooting and change tracking. It is commonly installed as a prerequisite for HMI/SCADA, historian, analytics, and asset management components within the FactoryTalk ecosystem.
