OUR PROGRAMS
Workforce Development
Since 2004, our Workforce Program has been dedicated to helping San Franciscans and Bay Area residents acquire the skills needed to enter or advance in the workforce. We work across a broad array of industries, including food service, driving, security, warehouse, construction, labor, and education. Located in Visitacion Valley, we work to bridge the gap between job seekers and local employers in search of qualified candidates.
Workforce development services include:
Outreach & Recruitment
- Ensuring clients are aware of available services.
Orientation & Assessment
- Initial intake and assessment with career advising, employment plans, and placement assistance.
- Explanation of services through Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD)-funded programs.
Career Advising
- One-on-one support with a qualified career advisor to track progress, remove barriers, and provide coaching.
- Referrals to additional resources as needed.
Job Readiness
- Workshops for resume writing, cover letters, and mock interviews.
- Connections to record expungement services to help clear barriers to employment.
Referral Services
- Referral to essential services such as substance abuse counseling, mental health support, childcare, housing, and sector-specific training academies.
- Expert guidance in accessing San Francisco’s programs and resources.
Additionally, FACES’ Workforce Program operates CityDrive, a comprehensive, free training program designed to help individuals obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s Permit (CDL) for employment opportunities.
The Program also operates a Family Resource Center, in partnership with Family Connections. Services offered through the FRC include:
- Family Advocacy
- Workforce Development Programs
- Basic Needs Assistance (Housing, Food, Diapers, and more)
