Fun with trolls!

EBF Troll hunter badgeWe’ve been having fun with trolls on the blog lately. As usual the same old accusations have been brought up from supporting terrorists to enabling paedophiles. Equally predictably the trolls, whilst advising us to read history, seem to have no grasp of the relevant facts themselves.

It’s because we understand history that we oppose neo-nazis like Britain First so vehemently. We know only too well what happens when religious and racial groups are demonised and alienated. We saw it in nazi occupied Europe, we saw it in the former Yugoslavia, we saw it in Rwanda and, much to the Biffers’ dismay, history saw it when European Crusaders invaded the Holy land, slaughtering Muslims, Pagans, Jews and even fellow Christians as they went.

So – just to be clear…

We oppose terrorism from ALL quarters, including terrorists like the Biffers.

We oppose ALL paedophiles but not all members of any religious group.

We don’t hate white people – we just don’t think white skins make us special.

We don’t hate our country – we just have compassion for others.

We don’t support sexism – we just prefer to address real issues rather than overly-simplistic generalisations.

We don’t support rape – we just don’t blame ALL members of a particular demographic for the actions of a few.

We DO despise fascism BECAUSE we understand the lessons of history and refuse to accept the repetition of one of Europe’s greatest mistakes!

Welcome to the EBF Blog

Welcome to our blog. Here we present ideas and information intended to expose the lies, distortions and hypocrisy of Britain First and its personnel.

We welcome different and opposing opinions, comments and discussion. However the blog is not intended to be a forum for flaming, for trolls to publicise their own pet projects (if you’re that keen on an unrelated project we suggest you start a blog of your own) or for pointless circular arguments that do not relate to the matter in hand.

We invite you to look around, to comment and to share our posts with anyone who my be interested. We support free speech and are very liberal-minded regarding our administrative rights. However we will remove comments which are intended merely to insult other commenters or to ‘out’ people unrelated to Britain First. We will also remove comments which are unrelated to the topic in question or those which seem to be repetitive and intended only to cause distress. Persistent offenders will be blocked from making further comments on our blog.

Unfortunately, removing these posts (however reluctantly) also leaves the comments of those who respond to them out of place. This leaves them open to misunderstandings. We hope that posters will understand if their replies to such trolls are also removed.

This is not an attack on freedom of speech. Anyone has a right to start their own blog and make all kinds of points not related to EBF and its mission. It’s just that EBF isn’t intended to play host to spammers, trolls and flamers. If you want to engage in petty vendettas that’s fine but please don’t do it here.

Don’t feed the troll

The EBF Blog is just over a week old and already it has attracted at least one very dedicated biffer troll. We see this as encouraging, oddly enough. It shows that the Biffers are aware of the damage we’re doing to their arguments and are investing quite a lot of their time trying to damage us.

They’ll fail, of course because the truth is way more convincing than multiple false accounts claiming expertise they don’t have in mock discussions with themselves.

Never the less trolls are tiresome so please don’t feed them. We’ve planned a series of separate posts debunking the troll’s lies (over a dozen are in the pipeline) by way of a measured response. But engaging directly with attention-seeking biffer trolls is probably not productive.

Please people, don’t feed the troll.
