Tom Atkins is an American actor. He is known as a cult favorite actor, for his work in the horror genre. His roles include the films Special Delivery (1976), The Fog (1980), The Ninth Configuration, Escape from New York, Creepshow, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, The New Kids, Night of the Creeps, Lethal Weapon, Maniac Cop, Two Evil Eyes, Bob Roberts, Striking Distance, Bruiser, Turn of Faith, My Bloody Valentine 3D, Shannon’s Rainbow, Drive Angry, Encounter (2018), and Trick (2019); the made-for-tv movies Tarantulas: The Deadly Cargo, A Death in Canaan, Desperate Lives, Blind Justice (1986), Lemon Sky, Dead Man Out, The Heist (1989), and Cry in the Wild: The Taking of Peggy Ann; and the shows Harry O, Serpico, The Rockford Files, Lou Grant, Quincy, M.E., Oz, City on a Hill, and Creepshow.
Tom is the son of Dorothy and George Atkins, who worked in a steel mill. He served in the U.S. Navy. He is married to Janis Lee Rodgers, with whom he has one child.
Tom’s paternal grandfather was Charles Clinton Atkins (the son of George C. Atkins and Bridget Cecelia Morris). Tom’s grandfather Charles was born in Pennsylvania. George was the son of Benjamin I. Atkins and Mary Smith. Bridget was the daughter of Irish parents, Marc Morris and Bridget Cecila Dougherty.
Tom’s paternal grandmother was Emma Amelia Rosenfelder (the daughter of George Henry Rosenfelder and Caroline Henrietta Miller). Emma was born in Pennsylvania. George was the son of Henry D.
