Dan Gow is an American musician. He is the guitarist for rock band Against The Current, whose members also include Chrissy Costanza and Will Ferri.

Dan’s paternal grandfather was Thomas Richard Gow (the son of Richard Francis Gow and Myrtle Mary Healy). Thomas was born in Anaconda, Deer Lodge, Montana. Richard’s parents, Timothy John Gow and Mary Ann Prindiville, were Canadian. His father was from Québec, and was of half Scottish and half Irish descent, and his mother was born in Ontario, to Irish parents, her father from County Kerry and her mother from County Westmeath. Myrtle was the daughter of John Healy, who was Irish, and of Elizabeth Smith, who was also of Irish origin.

Dan’s paternal grandmother was Margaret McBride (the daughter of Leo Edward McBride and Viorene Celeste Naef). Margaret was born in Butte, Montana. Leo was born in Anaconda, Deer Lodge, Montana, the son of Peter C. McBride, who was from Monaghan, Northern Ireland; and of Eunice Dorian, who was of Irish, and one quarter Swiss-French, descent. Viorene was the daughter of Roy Earl Naef, whose father was German, from Saxony, and whose mother was from Vermont; and of Mary Dorothy M. Berg, whose parents were from Prussia, Germany.

Dan’s maternal grandfather was William P. Smith (the son of George Leaf Smith and Elizabeth Josephine Lynch). William was born in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania. George was the son of Edmond Leaf Smith, who was of German [mostly from Baden, but including Swiss and Alsatian], French and distant Dutch descent; and of Pattie Mason. Elizabeth was the daughter of Moses J. Lynch and Mary A. Hayden, who were Irish, from Waterford.

Dan’s maternal grandmother was Dorothy Mae Hancock (the daughter of Richard Cecil Hancock and Estella Elizabeth Martin). Dorothy was born in Pennsylvania. Richard the son of Richard Hancock and Minnie Morgan, who were Welsh, from Pembroke Dock. Estella was the daughter of Harvey Butler Martin and Thesta Elizabeth Shatzer. She was of mostly German descent, being descended from some of the earliest German, Austrian, and Swiss immigrants to Pennsylvania, including Mennonite bishop Hans Herr.
