He is a member of boy band BTS, who are also known as Bangtan Boys, Bangtan Sonyeondan, Beyond the Scene, and Bulletproof Boy Scouts. The other members of the group are Jimin, Jin, Jung Kook, RM, Suga, and V. He has hosted music programs Inkigayo, along with V; Show! Music Core, with Jung Kook; and M Countdown, with RM, Jimin, and Jin.

J-Hope is from the Hadong Jeong clan.
