ESN Sonar

ESN Sonar is a background service developed by ESN AB that enables real-time voice chat for certain games and web-based game services. It was most commonly installed alongside the Battlelog web plugins used by Battlefield titles, where it handled audio devices, echo cancellation, and connectivity for in-browser voice channels. On Windows, ESN Sonar runs as a system service and may start automatically. It is not malware; its presence indicates that a game or related plugin using ESN’s voice features was installed. If you do not use those voice features, the service can be disabled or uninstalled, though applications that rely on it will lose voice chat functionality.
