Growing Together

Inspired by Cynthia Longfield, entomologist and explorer featured at EPIC, we are collaborating with a local school on learning about the importance of biodiversity and the role of plants in sustaining life on Earth through a series of workshops. Together, these efforts ensure CHQ and EPIC remain active contributors to a cleaner, greener Docklands.

Helping the homeless

In 2023, EPIC launched ‘They Gave The Walls A Talking’, a special exhibition celebrating The Pogues and Shane MacGowan. To honour MacGowan’s legacy, EPIC pledged in 2024 to donate €1 per view of our NYPD Choir video singing ‘Galway Bay’ to the Dublin Simon Community — an organisation which helps fund vital homelessness services as demand continues to rise across Ireland.

Environmental commitment

CHQ is a historic riverside building open daily to the community — and we take pride in caring for the environment we share. Our sustainability initiatives include:

  • Maintaining gardens using on-site compost and supporting biodiversity through pollinator-friendly planting.
  • Enhancing indoor air quality with plants throughout the concourse.
  • Eliminating single-use plastics and introducing clear waste segregation for all events.
  • Participating in the Docklands Biodiversity Action Plan and quarterly sustainability meetings.
  • Applied and were granted for SEAI funding to help develop a new Docklands Energy Master Plan.
