As I was catching up on True Blood (my very guilty "pleasure," there being pretty much nothing else worth watching on TV all summer; thank goodness since I haven't had the time anyway) tonight in preparation for the season finale--which, it turns out, doesn't premiere till next Sunday at 8:45 p.m. instead of 9:00, BTW--the perfect character for Michael Emerson to play on the show finally occurred to me. Of course, he couldn't have accepted it and "finished" out his role on Lost (which he's still giving me hope isn't finished!) and wouldn't have wanted it anyway, seeing as he's said he doesn't want to play a villain or a supernatural role (although he could have gotten his wish to play half of a gay couple!). But am I crazy to think he would have made a really good Russell Edgington? I've never seen him go over-the-top before (not that I wouldn't love to!), and the guy they already got for the role is pretty damn good at doing just the right amount of overacting for this cheeseball, comic-book-type show that owes more to Dark Shadows (which, like True Blood, threw in just about every supernatural creature but the kitchen-sink monster, a.k.a. the Blob, albeit less self-consciously), but I would love to see Michael have a go at something a bit less understated than all the "creepy death stare" villains he's played on TV so far. OK, well, minus the fake southern accent, that is (a la that awful, dreary political audiobook he did that I can't remember the name of, let alone get through the first chapter of)! Yeah, he'll definitely have to play a northerner on the show. :( (Hey, how about this for an idea now that Edgington's off the table: What if Hurley, Locke, and Ben go stumbling through the swamp and find themselves in Bon Temps???!)

Of course, the above clips are going to be removed any minute due to "terms of use violations" (several versions already have been) so watch 'em while they're hot!
 

Out in Twitter world, there's a campaign to encourage Michael Emerson to play the role of the Riddler in the next Batman movie. Now, Michael has expressed that the did not want to play another sinister-type of character. However, according tomooncove , if the movie studios were to produce a totally different type of movie, a not-so-dark movie—one like the old campy TV series of the 1960s—Michael would make a fantastic Riddler.

I can't believe it Today marks the end of an era. Many of us lived for the next episode, only to find, as mother said in "Across the Sea," our new questions resulted into new questions. In LOST, no question was ever answered without raising new questions. I don't think this phenomenon will end. I have a feeling that like our enigmatic actor, LOST will end enigmatically. I will miss the answers terribly.

I heard that there will be a lot of Ben in this episode. Hence, I anticipated some great reactions from us. I may end up being wrong, as I don't read spoilers. So, here's the next to the last episode of this great TV show!



Ben is not going to be in this episode. But from the little bit I let myself know in terms of spoilers, this episode sounds like it has tremendous possibilities for those of us who are also fans of the Island.

"Across the Sea"

I don't think that Ben will be in this episode. But nonetheless, we are down to the last four episodes. Let's enjoy these last LOST moments.

Whether Ben is in this episode or not, we have to be aware that our show is soon over. This is episode 12, and we will be having six more episodes to go. There will be one or two week hiatus sometime soon, and then it's all downhill. I have mixed feelings. I am looking forward to the answers to the mysteries we were given by this show, but I don't want to see the end.




"Everybody Loves Hugo"

Hurley agonizes over what the group should do next, and Locke is curious about the new arrival to his camp.

I posted last week that I would be shocked to see Ben; and Ben was there. So, I am going to try to eat my words again. I doubt that Ben will be on this episode, but some of us who are Desmond fans will have a heyday.

I'd be totally surprised if Ben is in this one. I think we will learn more about the war that is about to commence. I don't know about he rest of you, but I am sure going to miss LOST.


"The Package"
