I'm Lauren Geertsen, the creator of the EmpoweredSustenance.com.

A grain-free diet saved my life.

Now, I'm on a mission to share the healing power of food, in the most delicious way possible!

At age 14, I was diagnosed with a severe form of ulcerative colitis, an autoimmune disease. I struggled with intense disease flare-ups, excruciating pain, and frequent hospitalizations.

I took a pharmacy's-worth of medications each day, and my health worsened with each year. By the time I was 18, I was nearly bedridden and didn't think I had a future worth living.

Doctors told me that I would require pharmaceutical drugs for the rest of my life, and likely require intensive surgery to survive. They also told me that nutrition wouldn't improve my outcome.

I made the wise choice to stop listening to my doctors, and took my health into my own hands. I started a grain-free, dairy-free dietary nutrition protocol.

Within a few months of this protocol, I was symptom-free and had quit all my medications. I fully healed this disease that doctors once called "incurable."

That catalyzed my mission to help others liberate themselves from chronic illness and pharmaceuticals.
