Curriculum is the foundation for high-quality teaching. Start or enhance your teacher preparation program with the strength of the Educators Rising Curriculum, based upon the Educators Rising Standards that can be flexibly used as part of your Education and Training Pathway, as part of chapter activities, or as supplemental material to support Grow Your Own programs in your district.
The Educators Rising Curriculum emphasizes fundamental, research-based teaching practices critical for high school students to develop as they take their first steps to becoming accomplished educators.
New contracts for Educators Rising Curriculum (summer 2025) include Educators Rising Lesson Assessments at no additional charge.
Educators Rising Instructional Materials. This flexible curriculum—rooted in the Educators Rising Standards (aligned with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and inTASC standards)—includes lesson topics organized across five domains:
- Personal Development (You),
- Student-Centered Approaches (Your Students),
- Effective Classroom Management (Your Classroom),
- Community Engagement (Your Community),
- Professional Growth (Your Profession).
Resources for Clinical Experiences. Providing students with hands-on opportunities to experience teaching and refine their practice is a cornerstone of the Educators Rising curriculum program with its work-based learning components.
Student Interactive Guidebook. The Interactive Guidebook covers our core lessons (18 in year one, and 9 in year two). This PDF resource will help guide students with a scaffold aligned with our instructional decks. These resources feature a clean layout and intuitive design, helping students stay organized, to track progress, and prepare for assessments, classroom activities, or classroom discussions.
Video and Research Resources. We provide access to the National Board and Teaching Channel video libraries, allowing students to observe real classes, exploring topics through the lens of real teachers and students. These can enhance classroom discussions and supplement the Educators Rising Curriculum lessons. In addition, PDK International’s membership magazine, Kappan, is available four times a year through a student edition, complete with discussion questions, exposing students to relevant topics steeped in research and discussions of education policy.
Teacher Leader Training and Support. Any school that chooses to implement the Educators Rising curriculum also receives training for teachers leading the course. Opportunities are available to attend in-person curriculum training at the Educators Rising National Conference. In April 2026, we launched the Educators Rising Training Center which was designed for flexible learning — work through the complete program in sequence or go straight to the topics most relevant to you. Beyond initial support, ongoing implementation support is available via email, coaching calls, and during monthly virtual office hours.
“I’ve been using the curriculum and have trained others on how to use it, but I just finally got trained this past summer at the conference. It’s some of the strongest, most useful; I will definitely be using what she just taught me, as soon as school starts again! Possibly some of the best training… which made me realize how many resources I had overlooked! Outstanding training!” — Carla Smith, Renton School District (WA)
Access to a National Network. The Educators Rising membership network connects peers and experts around the country who are focusing on the same issues and challenges. Participating teachers and students can benefit from professional development, best practices, expertise, and discounts to attend the Educators Rising National Conference.
Schools want to grow their own teachers. Grow Your Own Teacher programs address the following issues:
- Teacher shortages,
- Teacher retention problems,
- Understanding of local community.
They want to elevate the teaching profession. Through a standards-based curriculum, thoughtful discussion, and practical experiences, student teachers commit themselves to grow into educators that support excellence, service, community, optimism, and leadership.
Our curriculum includes instruction focused on more than basic pedagogy. We include content on educating exceptional students, introducing concepts like IDEA, IEPs, 504 plans, and how to provide least-restrictive environments (LRE). Students will be exposed to topics including universal design for learning. We provide support for project-based learning experiences as well.
Our curriculum can be organized across a full 1- or 2-year scope and sequence. But it can also be utilized for 3- or 4-year CTE pathways. Materials are provided via our membership portal as PowerPoint and PDF resources, organized with a collection of lessons in core and supplemental categories. Each lesson includes student-guided notes and teacher notes. Our PowerPoint decks can be used by teachers right away with their ready-to-present format.
Our curriculum is loved by teachers because of its flexibility to be used across different school schedules, as part of a class, or as part of an afterschool club.
Because our materials are in editable PowerPoint format, teachers can supplement and modify content to their needs and even share materials in online content management systems for easy student access.
Our domains and lesson plan topics include the following sub-domains:
- For the emerging teacher
- Self-awareness,
- Improvement,
- Personal expectations, and
- Reflectiveness

ParaPro Certification is a great way to provide a completer’s assessment to your CTE program. When students take the ProPro assessment to become certified, your district can work with them to get paid as a student teacher at that stage of their teacher preparation program. Some students may want to explore becoming a paraprofessional in your district before going to college. Either way, ask us about bundling the ParaPro Assessment with your Educators Rising Curriculum purchase to provide students a certification exam at the end of your program. Keep in mind your state may have Parapro approved as an official CTE industry credential as well! Students can complete the assessment right at your school. Technology requirements to apply, embracing Windows 10 and Windows 11 or MacOS; modern browsers, and a 5Mbit network connection.
Through an agreement with ETS, you can purchase ParaPro testing codes from Educators Rising and administer the assessment in your school building. Not only is this convenient for many schools, we offer a discount over the list rate from ETS.

Educators Rising provides both a vibrant community and a specialized curriculum to address the teacher shortage in the profession. All Grow Your Own Programs are not the same! Our CTSO model with school chapters coupled with regional, state, and national events strengthens the experience students have in the classroom when teachers use our curriculum built upon standards developed with national partners that help you ensure that students are well-prepared to enter into education careers and higher education options.
I have been using the Educators Rising Curriculum for over 5 years now and love the program. Previously, I was creating my own resources to use in my education program courses. The Educators Rising Curriculum is easy to use and flexible in the units.
— Amy Mitchell, Northeast Dubois Jr/Sr High School, Indiana
Educators Rising has played an enormous role in reinforcing my love for learning but also strengthening my love for teaching. The relationships formed and the information that I have learned within this organization have shaped my mind to where I am able to shape others. I am just one small piece of Educators Rising however this movement is a large piece of me. My life is forever changed because I joined this organization.
How to Supplement our Curriculum
Our curriculum provides teacher-leaders support for your students to engage in teaching within your district. Optional resources include our Lesson Assessments, and the microcredential program offered via our partner, Digital Promise. This solution provides the opportunity for students to showcase mastery of their teaching & education skills gained in your school’s program.
Sustainable Funding Models
Our webinar, opposite, presents the multiple ways that schools and districts can fund their Grow Your Own teacher program. Among CTE programs, ours is among the least expensive! Yet in addition to providing your students an early advantage to develop the competencies and knowledge for teaching, you’re building out the pipeline for future educators right in your community.
In short, districts leverage the following funding types to provide our program in their schools:
- CTE Perkins Funding (See guidance from 2023 USED Office of CTE on using Perkins for Grow Your Own programs)
- District Budgeting
- Title Funding (Title I-IV)
- ESSER/ARP Funding (PDF) (by 30 Sept 2024)
