EBL now offers a fully automated, paperless, and branch-free process to open FD and DPS accounts instantly through the EBL Self Service Portal.

2. Who are eligible to use this service?

All existing EBL Retail account holders with account instruction is “Anyone can operate” are eligible to open FD and DPS accounts via EBL Self Service Portal.

4. How can a customer access the FD & DPS account opening option?

Visit https://selfservicehub.ebl-bd.com > Select Deposit > Choose FD/DPS.

5. Are all types of FD and DPS available through this platform?

Yes. All major EBL Local Currency Fixed Deposit (FD) and Deposit Pension Scheme (DPS) products are available for instant online account opening through the platform.

Customers can submit requests for Offshore Banking (Foreign Currency) FDs through the same platform. A reference ID will be generated upon submission, and the account will be opened within 02 working days as per standard processing timelines.

6. What are the investment limits for instant FD booking?

The minimum amount is BDT 1 Lac, and the maximum is BDT 1 Crore, subject to availability of customers updated Proof of Submission of Return (PSR) in the EBL system.

7. What will happen for High-Value Requests (Above BDT 1 Crore)?

FDs above BDT 1 Crore will be opened manually by the bank.

8. Does the customer need to visit a branch or submit any physical documents?

No. The entire process is automated. There is no need to visit a branch or submit any paperwork.

9. How will the customer know that an FD or DPS has been successfully opened?

Upon successful account opening, the customer will receive an instant confirmation, including the FD/DPS account number and a digital receipt (e-advice) sent to their registered email address.

10. Can a customer open EBL Earn First FD instantly?

No. EBL Earn First FD will continue to be opened manually, following the existing process.

11. Can the customer open a FD above BDT 10 Lac or a DPS with an initial deposit above BDT 10 Lac instantly through this platform?

Yes. For FDs exceeding BDT 10 Lac or DPS accounts with an initial deposit of BDT 10 Lac and above, customers can open their accounts instantly, subject to availability of customers updated PSR in the EBL system.

12. Is it necessary to visit a branch to collect the receipt/e-advice?

No. The receipt/e-advice will be sent automatically to the customer’s registered email address.

13. How can customers download their e-advice/receipt if email is not updated?

If the email is not updated in bank’s system, customers can download the receipt/e-advice from the EBL ESS portal within 1 month. After 1 month, they may contact 16230 for assistance.

14. Can customers open multiple FD or DPS accounts online?

Yes. Customers may open multiple accounts as long as each meets the product criteria.

15. Can FD or DPS accounts be closed online?

No. Closure or encashment must be completed at EBL Branch.

16. Are there any charges for using the Self Service Platform?

No. Opening FD or DPS accounts through the platform is completely free of charge.

17. Is the platform secure for financial transactions?

Yes. The EBL Self Service Platform is protected by advanced encryption and security protocols to ensure the confidentiality and safety of your information and transactions.

18. When FD & DPS accounts get opened manually instead of instantly?

Manual processing applies if:

  • FD amount exceeds BDT 1 Crore
  • FD amount exceeds BDT 10 Lac and PSR is not updated
  • Initial deposit for DPS exceeds BDT 10 Lac and PSR is not updated
  • The request is for Offshore Banking (Foreign Currency) deposits

**Manual requests are completed within 02 working days.
