The Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute (IOS-PIB) is a departmental institute supervised by the Ministry of Climate and Environment. The primary goal of the Institute is to create the scientific basis for environmental protection, to provide knowledge to the governmental and local governmental administration and economic entities, as well as to raise the level of ecological awareness and shape the ecological attitudes of society.

IOS-PIB is the country’s leading scientific and research unit in environmental protection and takes part in various national and European projects.

In its activities, the IOS-PIB deals with the following issues:

Politeknika Txorierri

Politeknika Txorierri (https://politeknikatxorierri.eus/) is a subsidized High School for Science and Technology and Vocational Education and Training (both EQF level 3 and 5) in the Basque Region. Each year the school provides education for over 400 full time students and 1000+ adult part time learners with a staff of 45 people. The school specializes in: Environmental Control & Education, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Robotics, Sales and Commercial Management, Mechanical Design and Mechanical Production.
Politeknika Txorierri belongs to the HETEL network of 33 subsidized VET schools in the Basque Region providing Vocational education and training to over 10000 full time vocational students (www.hetel.org). The network shares innovation practices, internationalization and mobility organization and technical projects.

Politeknika Txorierri operates as a Cooperative and forms part of the Mondragon Group with a strong emphasis on community and cooperative ethics. The Mondragon Group (http://www.mondragon-corporation.com/) is a business group made up of 289 companies and entities and 15 Technology Centres.
Since 2013, The Politeknika is also an associated member of the neighboring Science and Technology Park of Bizkaia (http://www.parque-tecnologico.es/) and has collaboration agreements with key business and industrial clusters in the Basque Country which permits close collaboration between businesses and the institution.

Politeknika Txorierri is a member of three different European networks:

  • INNOTECS, network of Technical VET schools and colleges.
  • EfVET (European Federation of VET providers) network. EfVET has over 200 members in almost all the EU member states; also members in Turkey and Russia. It is able to reach out to over 1500 VET institutions across Europe. This European network also has direct links to other European organisations including Lifelong Learning Platform, EAEA, EUCEN and CSR Europe.
  • DLearn (European Digital Learning Network).
  • Chain5, a ‘community of practice for level 5’ for those centers involved in the developments concerning EQF 5.

Urban Research and Education UG

ban Research and Education UG (haftungsbeschrändkt) (Acronym: URE) is an SME based in Berlin/Brandenburg region, Germany with a strong focus on European projects. The experience of URE comes from the background of its founders and members, who are university-based teachers/researchers or schoolteachers. Their strength is in the following areas:

 (1) urban planning and management including governance, territorial/regional/rural planning, masterplans, and the like.

(2) urban transportation and mobility including sustainable transport, active mobility, etc.,

(3) societal issues, including problems related to everyday life in urban societies such as climate change, energy, refugees, asylum seekers, etc.,

(4) promotion of physical activity and sport in different age and socioeconomic groups.

The research team of URE has experience in physical and social aspects of urban and regional planning related to different national and international research projects, including fundamental research and applied research. Complex interrelations between societal aspects of urban living, urban and rural planning and policymaking, socioeconomics, and behaviours and decisions of residents of different socioeconomic and cultural groups are among the interests of the URE team. Among the previous works of the team members, there are several projects related to regional planning, urban planning/development, urban mobility, capacity building, climate and energy, etc. The inter-relations between lifestyles and consumerism is also of interest. Production of research results on the abovementioned phenomena is important for URE.

Atlantis Engineering

ATLANTIS Engineering is a Greek ICT SME company. The company offers ICT solutions for Maintenance and Asset Management; an in-house developed Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), AIMMS and an interoperable and intelligent Decision Support System (DSS) for the manufacturing sector.

  • Its main focus is on exploring the transformative power of emerging technologies/tools in E&T, the digital society and labour market, through the development of inclusive, sustainable and accessible digitalised teaching, training, learning and assessment solutions through cutting-edge tools, that are based on interactive, sustainable and inclusive principles; e-learning platforms, serious games-simulations using AR/VR/AI-functionalities, AI-powered chatbots, personalised learning-paths, advanced websites including mapping features, mobile applications and assessment portals using micro-credentials.
  • If offers corporate, professional and personalised consultancy services for custom-made digital solutions, either as part of professional training, upskilling, re-skilling or validation of skills (micro-credentials).
  • If offers Professional Training through the provision of validated blended courses at the National and EU level to a wide range of target groups and learners including teachers, VET trainers, youth and social workers, youth, seniors, migrants, SEN etc. It is a successful Erasmus+ KA1 Learning Mobility provider (https://erasmuscoursescyprus.com/) offering professional development and upskilling courses on cyberbullying, STEAM, coding, robotics, 3D game design, VR/AR/AI/drones-technologies, 3D-Printing, entrepreneurship, climate change, culture, creativity, mental-health, etc.

It participates in International, EU and National based Research Programmes such as Erasmus+ Centre of Vocational Excellence, Creative Europe, ESF, AMIF, Horizon, KA2 Cooperation Partnerships taking different roles assigned, software developer, quality manager, validation expert etc.

European Digital Learning Network ETS

The European Digital Learning Network ETS – DLEARN – aims to embrace the challenges brought by the digital revolution in terms of digital skills mismatch, toward an inclusive digital society. The 47% of Europeans is not properly digitally skilled – yet in the near future 90% of jobs will require some level of digital skills and numerous opportunities in terms of jobs that are going to shape the labour market. Our aims are characterized by 4 key-words: SHARE, CONNECT, MULTIPLY, ENHANCE. DLEARN is a collector of practices and ideas, gathering diverse organizations in Europe to reflect, think and trigger new initiatives, toward the valorisation and the enhancement of digital learning.

The network was born from the initiative of 30 different organizations from all over Europe, active in the field of education and digital learning at various levels.

Therefore the two main goals the network is promoting are:

  • To develop and uptake of digital skills for every citizens, of any age, at all levels;
  • To foster digital learning, or in other words the use of ICT tools and methods to make learning more attractive, more effective, more flexible and to guarantee equal access to all.

DRONE EXPRESS Małgorzata Dobrzyńska

Drone Express is a company that provides specialized drones, accompanying accessories, and training programs for individuals seeking to enhance their skills in drone operation. The company offers comprehensive solutions to help organizations integrate drone technology into their operations. This includes training courses leading to certification, as well as the supply of drones and accessories tailored to meet specific organizational needs.

Drone Express actively participates in events to raise awareness about the applications of drones, with a particular focus on agricultural and farming equipment exhibitions. The company conducts demonstrations of specialized equipment for potential clients and representatives of government organizations.

Over the years, Drone Express has established a robust network of certified drone instructors and has successfully trained more than 100 drone pilots, serving both small businesses and government agencies such as the police, border guard, and fire services. The company currently collaborates with over ten experienced drone instructors to deliver high-quality training and support.
