DocsBarcelona recognises excellence, innovation, and creative commitment among the documentary projects selected for DocsBarcelona Pro. Each award, granted by international juries and specialised partners, provides direct financial support, access to international festivals and markets, or tailored consultancy, helping the teams advance in their creative and professional journeys.
DocsBarcelona Award for Best Project
DocsBarcelona’s recognition of documentary talent. The Official Jury of the DocsBarcelona Pro section will select the best project from the Rough Cut Pitch, which will receive a €5,000 development award to boost its production.

DocsBarcelona Best New Tech Project Award
Fostering the future of documentary storytelling. The best project presented at the New Tech Pitch receives a 1,500€ development grant.

CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator Award
A Forum project directed by a woman or non-binary person will be awarded a one-off strategy session with a CIRCLE mentor.

3cat Co-production Award for Best Forum Project
Starting in 2026, 3Cat will award a Forum project with a prize valued at €15,000, reinforcing both institutions’ commitment to supporting documentary filmmaking.

One Forum project will benefit from a full year of free consultancy with the DOCXS team.

Al Jazeera Documentary Channel Co-production Award for Best Forum Project
DocsBarcelona is collaborating with Al Jazeera Documentary Channel to introduce the Al Jazeera Documentary Channel Co-Production Award. The €10,000 award recognizes a project that sheds light on vital issues of our era, particularly those stemming from or related to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Africa, and Asia.

One Forum project will receive 2 Professional Accreditations to assist Dok.fest München in 2027.

Your soundtrack starts here. Acorde Musical Supervision, a Music Library & SFX division, awards a Rough Cut Pitch project with 1,000€ and flat-rate music licensing valued at 295€.

Foro Lau Haizetara Award
One Forum project will be selected to take part in the renowned Lau Haizetara co-production forum 2026 in San Sebastián.Un projecte del Forum participarà al reconegut fòrum de coproducció Lau Haizetara 2026, a Sant Sebastià.

Antaviana Best Pitch Award
The final push. One Public Pitch project receives post-production and finishing services valued at 3,000€, courtesy of Antaviana Films.

Supporting bold female voices. One Forum project directed by a woman will take part into the prestigious Women Make Movies Production Assistance Program.

Stories that Travel Award
DocsBarcelona collaborates with Jambika Docs to present the Stories that Travel Award. Endowed with €1,000, the prize recognizes a project with clear potential to reach wide audiences and travel across multiple territories and platforms, including television, streaming services, and digital media, among others. The jury will assess the clarity of the concept, its accessibility and viability in the current market, as well as its capacity to generate global impact.

One Forum project will be selected to attend FIPADOC 2027 in Biarritz.

DocsBarcelona will award €7,000 in cash to support the development of the project and will provide direct access to the Speed Meetings of DocsBarcelona 2027.

A professional jury will select one project, which will be awarded €3,000 in cash.

Pitch Lab DocsBarcelona Award
Four projects will be selected to take part in the Pitch Lab at DocsBarcelona 2027. In addition, the winning projects will attend a workshop led by a professional specialising in pitch techniques.

A project will be chosen to participate in the Doklab Navarra development lab worth €1.800.

Films Transit International Award
Two projects will be selected to receive specialized training in distribution and sales during 2027, consisting of 2 individual two-hour mentoring sessions.

EICTV Award
Two projects will be awarded: one will attend the Nuevas Miradas Festival at EICTV in person, and the other will be able to choose and take an International Workshop related to documentary offered by EICTV.
