ALLEGIANT: Once Choice Will Define You.

NOTES: There was a contest for the Allegiant Collector’s Edition, to vote on the fan choice for one of three deleted scenes to be included in its exclusive bonus materials. According to the article, the three candidates were:

Beyond the Serum: Candor Truth Telling: In this variation of Chapter 18 from INSURGENT, Jack Kang leads the Candor and Dauntless in a truth-telling ritual to piece together what happened during the attack by the Dauntless traitors.

Evelyn’s Vote: In this deleted scene from ALLEGIANT, Evelyn hosts an election to determine whether the people of the city will venture beyond the fence. Tobias learns just how devious his mother is and takes measures to gather support against her.

Strike First, Strike Hard: In this deleted scene from ALLEGIANT, Tris encounters Peter in a vulnerable moment in their old initiate dormitory. [This scene won the vote. I’ve not seen any news on whether the other two scenes will show up elsewhere sometime.]

Also, apparently, there is an exclusive Canadian edition of Allegiant from Chapters/Indigo which includes an exclusive deleted scene. I have not been able to find out any more specifics about the exclusive material yet.

Allegiant ~ Standard Edition

NOTES: The Standard Allegiant novel is 526 pages, 4 pages Acknowledgments, and 1 page Special Thanks. There are no Standard bonus materials with Allegiant, only exclusive features and the bonus materials section in the Allegiant Collector’s Edition.

Allegiant ~ Barnes and Noble Exclusive Edition

NOTES: This exclusive edition was apparently short-lived, and/or only used for author signings. (I purchased a copy on eBay, and I could not find a product page for it on the Barnes and Noble website at this time – October 2015.)

The book itself has the same ISBN as the Standard edition, but the dust jacket has a different ISBN. The book copyright page shows an ISBN = 978-0062024060 (Hardcover), but the dust jacket ISBN = 978-0062307347.

Barnes and Noble Exclusive Allegiant Bonus Materials

• There is an additional page in the front (right after the endpaper) designed for author signature. The top of the page says, “Exclusive Edition Allegiant.” The bottom of the page says, “#1 New York Times Bestselling Author Veronica Roth.” The middle two-thirds is a blank box for her signature.
• There is a double-sided poster attached in the back, but perforated so it can be removed. It is folded into thirds, with panels being about 4.5″ wide x 8″ tall. So, the full size is approximately 13.5″ x 16″. The front of the poster features excerpts from Natalie Prior’s journals. On the back is a poster with three of the five faction logos (Amity tree, Erudite water, and Dauntless fire). The back of the poster also highlighting the slogans of the three books in the series: “Once choice can transform you, One choice can destroy you, one choice will define you.”
