A Poor Christmas

In a world of pride and greed,
A poor Christmas is what you need.
Be poor in spirit to be blessed,
Not by vanities to be stressed.

Even if luxury at Christmas abounds,
Be only concerned if godly faith surrounds.
Let your joy be not in pleasure nor wealth,
But rather in Christ who gives you good health.

This Christmas be humble and pure in heart,
And from proud and sinful ways you depart.
Hold on to God’s Word in your celebration,
Praise Jesus for saving you from damnation.

My kingdom is not of this world

The Lord’s wisdom has already been unfurled,
For He said, “My kingdom is not of this world”.
Yet many don’t understand this at all truly,
For they seek things which are vain, profane and unruly.

Many are complacent and sit down in silence,
Instead of praying about the world and its violence.
Anyone of God’s kingdom won’t be undiscerning,
But be mindful that unto God they’re returning.

In God’s kingdom there is justice always,
But for sinful pursuits there is no hope nor praise.
The kingdoms of the world are in chaos and dread,
Because they have rejected the Lord’s Supper – His wine and bread.

Those who are called by the Lord’s name, unto the Scriptures take heed,
Lest anyone of the world by deception does mislead.
Therefore as forewarned reject all false prophets and false christs,
Lest your faith be lost in these last days heists.

Work for God, once again

Work for God, once again,
Pray to overcome your pain.
Work for God, once again,
Towards godliness you train.

Work for God, once again,
Proclaim the Gospel like the rain.
Work for God, once again,
Let the peace of Christ reign.

Work for God, once again,
Sow God’s word like the grain.
Work for God, once again,
Steer away from things vain.

Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. (John 4:36)

A Simple Christmas

All you need is a simple Christmas really,
In which you hold on to Christ dearly.
Don’t get carried away from Christmas dances,
Nor by stressing about your finances.

Worship and fellowship is essential,
Fancy clothes are inconsequental.
Have faith this Christmas like a mustard seed,
Trust in God to supply your every need.

Let your celebration be untainted,
And with God’s Word more acquainted.
For Jesus Christ seeks the humble and contrite,
Who love God will all their might!

Save us O Lord from the snares of the enemy

Save us O Lord from the snares of the enemy,
For around us are the tares of the enemy.
Save us O Lord from all creatures including man,
From those who towards us have an evil plan.

Save us O Lord from all devious words,
From all vile and hateful herds.
Save us O Lord from all types of curses,
From each whom in their heart malice nurses.

Save us O Lord from all the proud,
For these have grounds of vanity plowed.
Save us O Lord from those with sinister desires,
For you can pour water on their fires.

Save us O Christ, by your cross, death and resurrection,
And let us be under your sovereign protection.
Save us O Christ, for we trust in your Holy Name,
And by your grace and merits let us not be put to shame.

Faith without works is dead!

Faith without works is dead!
The Holy Scripture has said.
Help the poor and the needy,
Let not your faith be weedy.

Faith without works is dead!
The Holy Scripture has said.
Yes by yourself you cannot simply atone,
But you’re justified by works and not by faith alone.

Faith without works is dead!
The Holy Scripture has said.
There’s no faith apart from your works,
So show you your faith by your works.

Sup with Jesus

Come O believer and rest a while,
And desire to gaze upon God’s smile.
Surrender you burdens unto Jesus Christ,
For he is God’s lamb for us sacrificed.

Sup with Jesus at the banquet of the Lord,
Play unto him with your best chord.
Give praise unto God for He is good,
For he redeems us from all falsehood.

Drink the bread and wine remembering Jesus in faith,
And dwell upon each of His word as he saith.
Examine yourself to know if you truly believe,
So that by faith to Christ you do cleave.

Commune with Christ with full praises,
Sup with him as your love for Jesus blazes.
Jesus is the good shepherd of your soul,
Humble your heart as he makes you whole.

Jonah preached and Nineveh repented

The prophet Jonah received God’s voice again,
And this time he went to Nineveh’s domain.
Grateful to the Lord in his heart and mind,
Jonah boldly preached to Nineveh’s humankind.

“Forty days from now Nineveh will be destroyed!” ,
Thus Jonah proclaimed but it didn’t go void.
For the Ninevites believed God all in all,
Right from their king to the small.

They fasted in sackcloth and prayed,
And from sinning they all stayed.
They gave up their violence and evil ways,
And unto God most merciful they gave praise.

The eyes of Jehovah are sharper than all,
He knows the heart of the rich and the small.
Then the Lord God in his mercy towards them relented,
From his holy judgement, for they had repented.

And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. (Jonah 3:10)

Will you stand up for the Lord?

In this age of darkness and deception,
Will you have the right perception?
In these times of hate and violence,
Will you just sit down in silence?

In seasons when blasphemers abound,
Will the good faith in you be found?
In moments when corruptors of humanity speak,
Will your trust in God go all weak?

Remember you have been given life eternal,
And have rejected all ways infernal.
Remember you have confessed the good faith true,
And have chosen to be in God’s fellowship too.

If you choose to be one with divine accord,
Then will you stand up for the Lord?
If you wish to fight the good fight,
Then will you carry your cross both day and night?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12)
Do you have room for Jesus Christ?
Many score years ago in Bethlehem town,
Mary and Joseph went all around.
For the Son of God was to be born,
The Redeemer of the world as God sworn.
They went to seek room for his birth,
So the Savior be manifest on earth,
But no room in any inn they could find,
Due to the Roman census decree assigned.
So, in a humble stable, they stayed,
And there, the darkness began to fade.
For Jesus, the son of God, was born,
Destined to overcome every sinful horn.
Christ Jesus, fully God and fully man,
Went to fulfill God’s holy plan.
Those who trust in him will be saved,
If they repent from each path depraved.
So, for Jesus in faith, open up your heart,
Make room for Christ and never go apart.
Be humble living with Christ each day,
Let him be in your heart each time you pray.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)
