The Low Side of the Road
I live on Queen Anne Hill, in Seattle. I moved here after spending the first 26 years of my life as a solid Californian. I'll be back to California some day... but not yet.
In college, I majored in "Neat Japanese Stuff and How to Write About Neat Japanese Stuff." Practically, this means I'm generally unmarketable except to jobs that I'd want or can bullshit my way into. I can bullshit my way into a lot. It also means I'll talk your ear off about Japan if you give me half a chance.
I can speak both English and Japanese. I did not learn it because of anime, manga, or an asian girl fetish. I learned it because I wanted to read a book in the original language.
I am a gaming industry mercenary, until I can find a company that wants me to do something worthwhile full-time. That means that I generally work contract to contract. Usually for publishers whose games you own. Most recently that's been Microsoft, doing graphic design for the Xbox LIVE division.
I am a gamer.
I am a geek.
