The Dermalux DNA.
At the core of our LED technology is Dermalux DNA, our precision performance formula which delivers the consistent, clinically proven results on which our reputation has been built.
An evolution of expert engineering and biological science, Dermalux DNA represents the perfect synergy between technology and cellular response. Dermalux devices are world renowned for their quality, efficacy and safety, independently validated and medically certified to the highest standards.
However, effective LED Phototherapy goes beyond treatment delivery alone. True, measurable results depend on how the body receives, absorbs and responds to light at a cellular level.
Built around
the cell.
Every Dermalux device is engineered on a single, uncompromising principle: results must be repeatable, measurable, and clinically valid. Dermalux DNA is the formula that makes this possible.
It is a carefully calibrated system of interdependent parameters including wavelength precision, energy delivery and optimised dose which work synergistically to ensure light penetrates the skin effectively and reaches the target cells.
Engineered for
proven results.
Refined over more than a decade of research, engineering, and product innovation, Dermalux DNA is designed around one fundamental question “What does the cell need to respond?”
By answering this, we have created a technology platform that consistently stimulates optimal cellular activity supporting visible, repeatable and long lasting improvement.
The result.
A treatment you can trust.
Results you can measure.
Performance you can see.
This is Dermalux DNA.
This is the Dermalux Difference.

With LED Phototherapy, clinical outcomes are determined by the dose of energy the target cell receives. Too little energy will fail to trigger a biological response, and too much energy can be equally as ineffective. The Dermalux optimised dose is generated through key parameters working synergistically together. This is the Dermalux Difference.
Clinically Proven Wavelengths
Biological responses are wavelength dependent, making precise light selection critical to the success of any LED treatment. Dermalux uses only the most proven wavelengths validated through independent, peer-reviewed research and consistently demonstrated in practice to deliver optimal clinical outcomes.
For LED phototherapy to be effective, the emitted wavelength must correspond precisely with the chromophore within the target cells. Without this alignment, energy absorption is significantly reduced, limiting the effectiveness of the treatment and the results achieved.
Wavelength Accuracy
Treatment success depends not only on selecting the correct wavelength, but on achieving exceptional precision. The therapeutic window for optimal light absorption is extremely narrow, meaning energy must be delivered as close as possible to the target wavelength. Even slight deviation can reduce therapeutic effectiveness and compromise clinical results.
Dermalux LEDs are engineered to an exact standard, with a peak emission tolerance of +/- 2nm. This level of precision ensures that energy is delivered precisely at the intended wavelength, maximising photon delivery to the target cells and optimising treatment efficacy throughout the entire treatment session.
Optimal and Consistent Dosage
Clinical outcomes are determined by the dose of light delivered to the cells, not simply the output of the device. The Biphasic Dose Response describes how insufficient energy results in little to no cellular response, while excessive energy can reduce or even inhibit the desired effect.
Importantly, delivering a low energy dose over an extended period is not equivalent to administering a higher power treatment over a shorter duration. The biological response depends on how energy is delivered, not just the total exposure time.
For optimal cellular activation, several factors must be precisely controlled. The rate of energy delivery (joules per second), the total energy absorbed by the tissue (J/cm²), and the consistency and stability of light output throughout the treatment. These parameters are the core principles of Dermalux engineering and collectively determine treatment efficacy.
Simultaneous Wavelength Delivery
Biological responses are wavelength dependent, making precise light selection critical to the success of any LED treatment. Dermalux uses only the most proven wavelengths validated through independent, peer-reviewed research and consistently demonstrated in practice to deliver optimal clinical outcomes.
For LED phototherapy to be effective, the emitted wavelength must correspond precisely with the chromophore within the target cells. Without this alignment, energy absorption is significantly reduced, limiting the effectiveness of the treatment and the results achieved.
Dermalux devices are engineered to deliver multiple clinically proven wavelengths simultaneously through our advanced monochromatic LED technology. This enables distinct biological processes to be activated at the same time, enhancing both treatment efficiency and overall clinical outcomes.
By delivering wavelengths concurrently, a multi-targeted, synergistic response is achieved which reflects the skin’s natural function as a complex, multi-layered biological system. This integrated approach ensures comprehensive treatment, addressing multiple concerns within a single session.
Targeted Light Technology
Not all LEDs are created equal. Dermalux monochromatic LED delivery is designed to support the principles of photobiomodulation ensuring that target cells receive the appropriate energy at the correct depth. This precision enables multiple therapeutic pathways to be activated simultaneously, while maintaining treatment within the optimal range defined by the Biphasic Dose Response.
Dermalux proprietary integrated optics and advanced thermal management systems further ensure precise wavelength accuracy and consistent performance, delivering reliable, repeatable clinical outcomes over time.
Thermal Management
Effective thermal management is fundamental to consistent performance in LED phototherapy. As energy is delivered, heat is generated. If this is not precisely controlled, rising LED temperatures can lead to wavelength shift, reduced output efficiency and compromised treatment comfort.
Dermalux integrates smart cooling technology to actively regulate device temperature throughout the treatment. Maintaining stable operating conditions ensures that our LEDs consistently emit light at the intended wavelength, intensity and maintain optimal clinical efficacy.
Uniform Light Delivery
Uneven light distribution can lead to inconsistent outcomes. All Dermalux devices are engineered with our advanced stand-off irradiance design and optimised LED array geometry to deliver uniform light distribution across the target treatment area.
By maintaining an optimal distance from the skin, Dermalux technology promotes even light delivery without hot spotting (localised excess energy) and ensures consistent energy absorption at the correct intensity, maximising efficacy eliminating potential overstimulation and supporting a superior treatment experience.
