COSMOSWorks, developed by SolidWorks Corporation, is an integrated finite element analysis (FEA) solution for the SolidWorks 3D CAD environment (later rebranded as SOLIDWORKS Simulation). It enables engineers to test and validate designs under real-world conditions directly within their CAD workflow. Users can define materials, loads, restraints, and contacts for parts and assemblies; create high‑quality meshes; and review results such as stress, displacement, strain, and factor of safety. COSMOSWorks supports a range of studies, including linear static stress, steady-state and transient thermal, frequency, and buckling analyses. Advanced editions add capabilities for fatigue, design optimization, dynamic response, contact interactions, and nonlinear behavior. Tight CAD associativity keeps simulations synchronized with geometry changes, while automated mesh refinement, visualization, and report generation help speed decisions, reduce physical prototyping, and improve product reliability.
