merry christmas everyone! Modmail is now available:
https://comic.studio/tickets (linked on the messages page). you can now communicate site issues directly with the mods, and - while we still encourage reports, especially for less serious concerns - this is a way to make sure it gets seen no matter what! mods can also respond, so keep it civil or risk getting the ticket closed ^^;Hey everyone!
Just want to say sorry that the site was down for ~6 hours this morning. Apparently, the auto payment for our hosting bills slipped through, and they temporarily shut it down until we fixed it.
We'll be more closely monitoring the site's status from now on, but in the future feel free to reach out to staff and let us know when there's a problem!

hi again. I want to clear up some problems people have with some of the new rules we've pushed - the intention was always to ask the community for critique before enforcing them, but I ended up being too busy working on the game from my last post to even make an announcement, let alone a request for comment. I apologize for that, and this post is my attempt to make good on that, and bring everyone to agreement on what the rules should be. so, if you have any thoughts on them (good or bad), leave a comment below and upvote ones you agree with so we can resolve issues
the one rule I 100% know I'm rewriting is rule 9a. this came as a result of site drama, and I want to keep it around in some form, but I get a lot of the criticisms people have with it in its current form, and I have written up a rough draft of what the new version should be:
9a. Keep sharing of personal details at a level that others can reasonably handle, and be mindful of how you treat darker topics. If you're not sure, here are some examples:
• Less serious information, like "going through a really bad breakup :(" or "I've been having a rough week at school, sorry everyone", can be shared freely.
• Moderately worrisome subject material, like "somebody broke into my house" or "I've been feeling bad about how I look lately", should be posted with appropriate content warnings and care. Use content warnings for posts that involve serious topics where applicable.
• Thoughts and feelings that are directly harmful towards yourself or others should be kept private. If you want to talk to others in the community about topics like self harm or threats to your safety, consider reaching out to a friend and asking if you can share those details. Users 13 and up with messages enabled can also make a post asking for friends to reach out and talk about it - as long as others know what they're getting into, it's good to share your concerns with them.
(I'm out of characters, so see pinned comment for any addendums)
Profile styles and animated avatars are here!
You can now customize how Comic Studio looks! Go to the 'Style' tab in your account settings. Others will be able to see your style on your profile, too!
(Note: Backgrounds are only customizable when dark mode is enabled. We're working on a fancier light mode, too.)
This is the first of several customization updates - we're working on a LOT more ways to personalize profiles, posts, and studio community pages. Let us know if you have any feedback in the comments!
