Paxman is a family company

The Paxman Scalp Cooling System exists because of Sue
Find out more
Sue was the wife of our founder Glenn, and mum to Curtis, Claire, our Director of Global Training, Richard, our CEO, and James. She is the heart and motivation behind everything that happens at Paxman. In the video above, the Paxman family talks about their memories of the woman who has inspired so much.

When Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer, she tried a rudimentary scalp cooling system during chemotherapy, but it failed, and she lost her hair. The trauma of losing her hair deeply affected her and her four children, inspiring Glenn to prevent others from enduring the same horrible experience.

We thought it was important to share with you the wonderful woman who sits at the centre of everything at Paxman. Her experience shaped our understanding of what patients face, and her legacy lives on through the Paxman Scalp Cooling System, helping thousands worldwide.

Bright, warm, and full of life, Sue never let cancer define her. Even after a second diagnosis, she remained resilient until her passing in 2000. Her determination fuels our mission: to ensure that anyone who wants scalp cooling can access the treatment.

A united company dedicated to side effect management

Sue ignited the spark that became the Paxman you see today. We’ve grown into a company of over 100 individuals across the world, all passionate about helping patients through chemotherapy and its side effects. We’re championing awareness, expanding access, and striving for even better outcomes, all to ensure that you keep a piece of yourself when faced with cancer.

For many, our determination comes from a deeply personal experience with cancer. Several members of the team have been through the anxiety and trials of cancer themselves and found empowerment through scalp cooling. Jennie, Rachel, Leah, Begoña, Shawna and Camilla, all joined us to give something back - to make a difference - and they know first-hand exactly what you’re going through.
