Contact CLDC
CLDC’s attorneys are licensed only in the following jurisdictions: U.S. Supreme Court; Oregon, Washington, and California state courts; 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 9th, 11th, Federal, and DC federal appellate courts; the federal Court of Claims; and the federal district courts for Oregon; Western District of Washington; Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of California; North Dakota; and Eastern District of Michigan. We do handle cases in many other jurisdictions through “pro hac vice” (one case only) procedures.
Please use the legal intake form below to contact CLDC if you are seeking representation or advice as a result of your political, environmental, or social justice activism.
Legal Request
Please note that CLDC only takes cases involving political, environmental, or social justice activism (for example, arrest for protesting; illegal government surveillance of activists).
Due to limited time, capacity, and the number of intakes received, CLDC staff may not be able to respond to all intakes outside of our purview. Please consider calling the Oregon State Bar referral service at 1-800-452-7636, or the bar referral service in your state.
**Remember that contacting CLDC does not establish an attorney-client relationship. You should not send confidential information to us.

Request Legal Observers at Your Event
Use this form to request legal observers are your event.
Legal observers support people to express their political views as fully as possible without unconstitutional disruption or interference by the police and with the fewest possible consequences from the criminal justice system. Legal Observers® are typically, but not exclusively, law students, legal workers, and lawyers who may or may not be licensed locally. The presence of Legal Observers® may serve as a deterrent to unconstitutional behavior by law enforcement during a demonstration.
