This was the up and down view on my return flight yesterday. I left home with the snow almost melted, spent nine days in the desert warmth, and returned to the remains of a wind and rain storm. Crazy!
And where was I? I traveled to Phoenix for QuiltCon 2025. This was a trip about nine months in the making. I decided to go early last summer and was fortunate to get some classes even though the site for registration was very wonky and even crashed – after my registration went through. I had talked some Arizona friends into joining me and we had a fantastic time. I took a class from Sarah Hibbert on the first day and a class with Jen Kingwell on the last day. In between we looked at quilts and shopped the vendor mall, drank coffee and ate good food, and enjoyed the whole experience.

My friends did an amazing job of hosting me, great food and wonderful places to sleep. I grew up in Arizona but left before I was old enough to appreciate the beauty. The landscapes did not disappoint.

Now I am home and will need to make some choices about what to do next. I have lots of ideas so watch this space.
