This page lists current known platform-specific limitations in CastHub. It is updated as items are resolved or newly discovered.
Tizen TV
Video playback is not supported on Tizen at this time. Web page slides are also not supported. Tizen works for image-based signage and caches image content for offline playback. If you need video or web slides on a Samsung TV, use Android TV or Amazon Signage Stick connected via HDMI instead of running natively on Tizen.
Roku
Roku does not cache content for offline playback. Web page slides and external video URL slides are not supported on Roku. Remote device commands and scheduled device commands are not available on Roku. If your deployment requires any of these, use Amazon Signage Stick.
Apple TV
Apple TV plays web page slides only while online; web pages are not cached for offline playback. Remote device commands are not exposed for Apple TV.
HDMI CEC required for display power
Wake and sleep commands sent to Amazon Signage Stick rely on HDMI CEC support from the connected display. If display power commands do not appear to take effect, confirm CEC is enabled in the TV settings (different manufacturers use different brand names for CEC: Anynet+ on Samsung, Bravia Sync on Sony, SimpLink on LG, and so on).
Items previously listed as known issues that are now resolved (direct video file upload, mobile app, web page slide stability, Power BI workflow) have been removed. If you encounter behavior that does not match this list, contact support.
