Loctite Corp., a major industrial adhesives company, has implemented the five principles of lean management on its customer service operation. Has a recent merger of customer engineering service with the dispensing system operation, the vice-president of technical service and application engineering view to the application of lean principles to the plant operation. The company initially as a secondary product line equipment, only to its service offerings to support the core product supplement required – industrial adhesives. In addition, most Loctite equipment manufacturing activities were outsourced, so suppliers played an important role in the lean transformation. The vice president has a plan to implement the principles of lean management, while achieving the goals set by the President of the company.
