GlycoNet Integrated Services (GIS) is a pan-Canadian initiative managed by the Canadian Glycomics Network (GlycoNet), uniting expertise, state-of-the-art technologies, and infrastructure from leading research institutions to drive innovation in glycomics and glycoscience.
Our mission is to accelerate the discovery, development, and commercialization of solutions for critical challenges in healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sustainability.
GIS is supported in part by the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s Major Science Initiatives Fund (2023-2029) and Genome Canada’s Technology Development Program (2023-2026).
Our advanced instruments and technologies,
combined with the expertise of our scientific and technical teams,
ensure reliable, high-quality services for all clients.

GIS integrates the knowledge and resources of seven regional centres across Canada, offering a comprehensive platform for glycomics research and development. Our team has a proven track record in method and technology innovation, demonstrated by contributions such as:
In addition to biomedical research and biotechnology, GIS supports advancements in agriculture, plant biotechnology, biomaterials, biofuels, environmental research, and disease surveillance.
GIS operates as a fully integrated national platform, with facilities located in:
Montreal (Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre, INRS, CHU Ste-Justine)
Hamilton (McMaster University)
Edmonton (University of Alberta)
Burnaby (Simon Fraser University)
GIS enhances global biotechnology capacity by driving discoveries, fostering international collaboration and delivering advanced glycomics solutions. By addressing pressing challenges in healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sustainability, GIS contributes meaningfully to achieving One Health and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The nodes of the facility are across seven institutions in Canada.
