Welcome to Camp Yonnie!

Our Camp Yonnie Director's: Ethan Wolfson and Beth Leinweber. They are standing next to one another smiling toward the camera.

Our Vision:

Camp Yonnnie is where Jewish kids grow into confident, joyful, and proud young Jews — while having the time of their lives. Through adventure, creativity, and community, we empower young people to discover their strengths, build lifelong friendships, and carry the spirit of joy and leadership far beyond the summer. Camp Yonnnie blends the energy of a classic summer camp with the depth of Jewish values, culture, and community. Through immersive experiences, meaningful traditions, and joyful connection, campers don’t just attend camp — they belong.

Shabbat:

“Every Friday we gather together as one Kehillah Kedosha (holy community) to celebrate Shabbat! We sing songs, dance, light candles, drink grape juice, and enjoy delicious challah! Each week one bunk leads the song session with songs they learned from School of Rock (with Gary and Savannah from SOR) and then they help lead the blessings with Bethany. Families are invited to participate. It’s always filled with love, excitement, and a beautiful feeling of togetherness. Shabbat is THE BEST!” At Camp Yonnnie, Judaism isn’t a subject — it’s the environment. Campers experience Jewish culture and values through music, language, traditions, friendships, and everyday moments that make Judaism feel joyful, relevant, and proud.

Supervised by Pros & Designed for Smiles

Camp Yonnie provides a number of different activities for our Happy Campers and every day is packed with exciting activities that spark creativity, build confidence, and bring campers together; from arts & crafts masterpieces and splash-filled pool time to sporty showdowns and musical jam sessions.

Whether your camper loves to cook, explore, perform, or play, there’s something here for everyone. Our caring staff ensures every activity is safe, age-appropriate, and full of positive energy. Rooted in Jewish values and open to all, Camp Yonnie is a place where friendships form fast, laughter comes easy, and every camper feels like they truly belong.

A Signature Standout

One of the most powerful parts of Camp Yonnnie is our Israeli Scouts (Tsofim). Campers build authentic relationships with young Israeli leaders, experience Hebrew in a natural way, and gain a global perspective on Jewish life — all through fun, play, and friendship.

Bilingual Exposure

Campers are immersed in Hebrew naturally throughout the day — during games, activities, songs, and casual conversation — building familiarity and confidence in a second language without the pressure of a classroom.

Real Connections

Our Israeli Scouts bring Israel to life through stories, traditions, music, food, and shared experiences. Campers don’t just learn about Israel — they form real friendships with young Israelis.

Cultural Exchange

From morning activities to afternoon sports and evening programs, campers experience Israeli culture woven into everyday camp life. It’s not a presentation — it’s participation.

Global Jewish Peoplehood

Campers develop a personal, human connection to Jewish life around the world. They see what it means to be Jewish in another country through real relationships, shared values, and mutual respect.

Young Global Role Models

Our Shinshinim are carefully selected young leaders who serve as mentors, counselors, and cultural ambassadors — inspiring campers through leadership, warmth, and authenticity.

A Camp Experience You Can’t Get Anywhere Else

This is not something families can replicate with a class, a trip, or a program. The Israeli Scouts create a living bridge between Sarasota and Israel — every single summer.

See what other parents are saying about Camp Yonnie!

I just wanted to thank you for making Camp Yonnie such a great experience for Jamie! He loves it so much! He asked if we can come back over the summer because he likes Camp Yonnie better than his temple camp in St. Louis.
“Our child has told us that he’d rather go to Camp Yonnie than 1. visit family in NY, 2. see a Broadway play and 3. go to Disney World.  So, looks like we will be home for Thanksgiving.”
“The kids loved it. Seriously feel like we won the lottery with camp. They felt so safe and happy and had the best time. Security was probably great but I’m freaked out in general.”
“We absolutely loved camp. The counselors and staff were amazing. We loved all the projects and variety of activities. I loved that my son was exposed and taught about activities and sports but not punished or isolated if he didn’t participate. I really felt like counselors and staff did everything to make him feel welcomed, included and special.”
“Our kids loved Camp Yonnie. They continued to talk about it all summer long. Next year, we will put them all in as many sessions as our travel plans will allow for!”
“Everything was great. My kids had only positive experiences to share.”
