There once was a huntsman called Harry,

To keep things just right,
he watched day and night,

Author’s Note: The huntsman spider is a large, fast-moving spider commonly found in Australia. Despite its size, long legs, and scary appearance it is harmless to humans and helps control pests by hunting insects rather than spinning webs.
They say that I’m fluent in gin.
(Which some may think, is a sin).
I care not a jot.
Just measure the shot.
Raising glass and saying, chin-chin.
I savour each botanical skin,
and cradle my juniper grin.
For each merry sip,
removes trouble’s grip,
… *hic!*

Sammi Scribbles: 13 Days of Samhain, Vol. 6 – Day 5
There once was a flibbertigibbet named Fay,
who did cartwheels through crowds every day.
She hummed with the bees,
Climbed sycamore trees,
And picnicked on rooftops in May.
The mayor declared with a frown,
“That girl flips everything upside down!”
But Fay simply smiled,
with her feminine wile.
Then tap danced herself out of town!

Sammi Scribbles, Weekend Writing Prompt: flibbertigibbet (60 words*)

I found this assorted collection of artefacts in a corner at the Mayday Hills Escape Rooms in Beechworth, Victoria.
Aside from the historic curiosities contained within the cabinet, I was struck by how ‘full’ this narrow space seemed; the potplant overwhelming the glass case, the heater jammed in next to it, the different leveled windows distracting the eye and skewing perspective. Even the reflected shaft of light on the floor seems to command its own attention.
(So here’s a little limerick to kick off this A-Z Challenge 😆… )
There once was a wacky glass case,
whose job was to fill up the space.
So Little Jack Horner
couldn't sit in this corner
but the light gives his shadow a chase!
