Release

Beneath the streetlamp’s hum,
a terrier halts its thrum.
Nose twitching, calculating sum
then lifting leg, like a flag.

In quiet ceremony,
A warm arc kisses concrete.
Better there than on my feet!
I think as steam curls upward…

Harebrained Scheme

A rabbit sits.

At the cash register;
twitching.

Ears alert.
The door chimes.

Fur catches
fluorescent light.

Soft static
in a sterile world.

Customers stare,
unsure if it’s real.

The manager calls it,
a harebrained promotion.

But the rabbit

…just waits.

Quiet.
Still.
Invested.

Yet counting ,
on absolutely nothing.

Reign

Saying nothing.
The silence cuts sharp.

No banner.
No noise.

Just steady hands
concealing…
a beating heart.

Fierce wasn’t loud.
It was the choice
to stay.

To rise.
To keep going.
When most walk away.

Revel in…

The sun’s warm kisses,
and breeze on your skin.

Crying with laughter,
soothing moments within.

Strolling at midnight
beneath glittering stars.

Petrichor rain
softening a scar.

A still quiet morning;
coffee in hand.

Ants on a mission.
Bare feet upon land.

A song on repeat,
without any request.

Follow dreams,
without any behest.

Tumbling into bed,
amidst whispering sheets

Feeling another’s heart
and knowing…

you’re the reason it beats.
