Rules

  • Registration Deadline: Only the registration between May 13 , 2024 and June 14, 2024, 24:00 Nepal time is considered to be valid.
  • Team Formation: Teams must be formed before the hackathon begins. Participants cannot change teams once the event starts.

  • Code of Conduct: Participants must adhere to a code of conduct that promotes inclusivity, diversity, and respect for all attendees.

  • Submission Deadline: Projects must be submitted before the specified deadline. Late submissions may not be accepted for judging.

  • Hardware and Software Limitations: Participants must use their own hardware and software for the hackathon. Using pre-built templates or projects is not allowed. Make sure to contact organizers if you have any doubts.

  • Ownership and Licensing: Participants retain ownership of their projects but are encouraged to choose an open-source license for their codebase.

  • Prize Distribution: Prize distribution will be based on the decision of the judges and organizers. Disputes or appeals regarding prizes will not be entertained.

  • Code Review: Organizers may conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with the rules and to prevent plagiarism. Participants must use Git for version control to ensure that the project has been completed during the hackathon. Participants can make the repository public or private and use mechanisms like Personal Access Tokens to share the repository.

  • Behavioral Guidelines: Participants must conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner. Any form of harassment or misconduct will result in immediate disqualification.

The exact schedule of the hackathon will be updated before 15 days of the actual event.

Eligibility

The hackathon is open to all students to participate that have not exceeded 1 year from graduation from their Bachelor's degree. Please note that all participants should be present at the hackathon in-person.

Project and Submission Requirements

During the project submission, we require,

  • a 2-3 minute video that explains the project with how useful, unique, and usable it is, and shows a demo of the project. The video should appeal to the judging criteria.
  • a link to the repository for the project. The repo can be private or public. Private repo should be shared using Personal Access Tokens or other mechanisms. The repo submitted from the portals is considered to be final.
  • some paragraphs about the implementation of your project.

Prizes

The prizes are listed in the prize section. All the amounts are valued in Nepalese Rupees. Please note that it may take 10-15 business days for reimbursing the prize to the participants. 

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

The best project will be judged on the following criterias;

  • Innovation and Creativity (25 Points): The originality and creativity of the idea or solution presented.

  • Technical Complexity (10 Points): The complexity of the technical implementation, including the use of advanced techniques or technologies.

  • Usability and User Experience (10 Points): The user-friendliness and effectiveness of the project in solving the problem it addresses.

  • Impact and Relevance (10 Points): The potential impact of the project, including its relevance to the problem statement and its potential to make a difference.

  • Implementation Quality (10 Points): The quality of the implementation, including code cleanliness, organization, and overall robustness.

  • Completion (10 Points): The extent to which the project meets its goals and is fully functional.

  • Presentation (25 Points): The clarity, professionalism, and persuasiveness of the project presentation to the judges.

The prizes will be awarded based on the prize rules and the points scored by the team.
