Microsoft’s Allen , Foreign Scytl election software, and Obama -what could go wrong?

In what has to be one of the most troubling pieces of news, we learn that Scytl is on the move in taking control of many world-wide elections as well as increasing in U.S. elections via electronic means. Now Microsoft’s Paul Allen has chipped into the pot. Here is the update from earlier posts you might want to check out. First the back story.

Foreign company owns U.S. election software-UPDATE

“Obama donor’s company funds controversial election firm” reads the headline. We now are turning over our election software to a foreign company that happens to support Obama. The Drudge Report yesterday ran a feature titled “Foreign company buys U.S. election results reporting firm.” The article documented that SCYTL, based in Barcelona, acquired 100 percent of SOE Software, the leading software provider of election management solutions in the United States. Drudge reports that the  best part is that the election results are redirected not to a USA server, but to a server overseas.

UPDATE:Save American Foundation:

SCYTL, the global leader in secure electronic voting technologies, announced today the acquisition of 100% of SOE Software, the leading software provider of election management solutions in the United States.

Why is a software company based in Barcelona Spain(SCYTL)  now in charge of counting our votes in the upcoming General Election on November 6th.  Did the Federal Elections Commission approve of this ?  (FEC) Did the Congress of the United States approve of this ?

The firm already provides balloting for overseas U.S. military and civilian voting in nine states along with elections technologies in several districts

With the purchase of SOE Software, meanwhile, SCYTL has increased its involvement in the U.S. elections process. SOE Software boasts a strong U.S. presence, providing results in over 900 jurisdictions.

In 2009, SCYTL formally registered with the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (AEC) as the first Internet voting manufacturer in the U.S. under the EAC Voting System Testing and Certification Program.

Project Vote noted that in 2008, the Florida Department of State commissioned a review of SCYTL’s remote voting software and concluded, in part, that:

  • The system is vulnerable to attack from insiders.
  • In a worst case scenario, the software could lead to (1) voters being unable to cast votes; (2) an election that does not accurately reflect the will of the voters; and (3) possible disclosure of confidential information, such as the votes cast by individual voters.
  • The system may be subject to attacks that could compromise the integrity of the votes cast.

University of Michigan professor who with his students hacked a prototype D.C. voting website and had it play the school’s fight song said today it will be decades, if ever, before voting can be performed safely over the Internet.

J. Alex Halderman, a computer science professor, has been participating in a test of Washington’s new “Digital Vote By Mail” system, which was supposed to allow some 900 D.C. overseas voters submit ballots over the Internet.

During the test, which began last week, not only was Halderman’s group able to get the site to play the fight song, they also changed cast votes to “evil science fiction robots” and gained access to video cameras monitoring a board of elections data center.

Halderman’s hack prompted election officials to take down the system for several days, but it went back up on Tuesday. Halderman said that on Thursday his group changed the password to part of the system to “InternetVotingIsDangerous!” and locked officials out. The test of the system was supposed to end today. Now back to the latest news:

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, a supporter of President Obama, is investing $40 million in Scytl, the Spain-based firm that in January 2012 acquired 100 percent of SOE Software, the leading software provider of election management solutions in the United States.

Allen made the investment via his Vulcan Capital, the investment management firm that oversees his multi-billion dollar portfolio.

Abhishek Agrawal, Vulcan Capital’s managing director, told the Wall Street Journal’s blog he expects countries to eventually become comfortable with digital-only elections.

“This is a very powerful global trend,” Agrawal added. “There is a pathway toward gradual modernization.”

Another of Allen’s charitable groups, the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, donated a total of $250,000 to the immigration-reform advocacy group Centro de la Raza.

The same foundation provided $450,000 to the Urban Institute.

The supposedly “nonpartisan” Urban Institute’s employees have a record of donating nearly 100 percent of their political contributions to Democrats. Officially, the Urban Institute advocates for socialized medicine, carbon taxes and amnesty for illegal aliens.

Scytl, meanwhile, is advancing worldwide. WND reported yesterday an entire municipality in Canada will utilize online-only voting in the next election, with all balloting to be run via Scytl.

WND reported in 2012 that Scytl announced the successful implementation of technology that allows ballots to be cast using Google and Apple smartphones and tablet computers

Google’s Schmidt considered for Cabinet post – Egypt’s best friend

The fact that latest reports are that Eric Schmidt will decline any cabinet position offer in the administration should not bring us any relief of concern.  I have done numerous posts on the direct involvement of Google and a number of his Executives in the various Arab Springs. Know for sure, Google is more than willing to help Obama with any spying desired. Now that the NSA case is back in the news, let’s take a look as well as his particpation in the Middle East debacle.

Windows 8 computers have “kill switch”

While we are worried about SOPA, 1984 continues. I will stick with an Apple, but for how long will that be safe from prying government eyes? Google is following our every move like a Blood Hound. Our cell phones on or off provide a constant tracking device. Something to think about on a Saturday.

With the rollout of the Windows 8 operating system expected later this year, millions of desktop and laptop PCs will get kill switches for the first time. Microsoft (MSFT) hasn’t spoken publicly about its reasons for including this capability in Windows 8 beyond a cryptic warning that it might be compelled to use it for legal or security reasons. The feature was publicized in a widely cited Computerworld article in December when Microsoft posted the terms of use for its new application store, a feature in Windows 8 that will allow users to download software from a Microsoft-controlled portal. Windows smartphones, like those of its competitors, have included kill switches for several years, though software deletion “is a last resort, and it’s uncommon,” says Todd Biggs, director of product management for Windows Phone Marketplace. Facebook Deletes Jan Brewer’s Post

See how easy it is to do when the government is in bed with the “social media”? Just a trial run no doubt. Get ready.

Facebook issued an apology Saturday for  deleting a post by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer that criticized President  Obama over his administration’s new policy on prioritizing deportations  of illegal immigrants.

Brewer’s picture and a statement that  accompanied it were removed Friday from Facebook, apparently because  they “violated Facebook community standards.”

“The post was removed in error,” Andrew  Noyes, Manager of Public Policy Communications at Facebook said in a  statement. “We apologize for any inconvenience.”

Before the photo’s removal from the popular social networking site,  it had garnered over 10,000 “likes” and comments, Brewer said in a  follow-up post that included a reprint of Thursday’s original deleted  post.

Brewer, one of the president’s toughest  critics on border policy, said the administration’s recent move to  launch a case-by-case review of illegal immigrants slated for  deportation amounts to an immigration overhaul “via executive fiat.”

“This plan amounts to backdoor amnesty for  hundreds of thousands — if not millions — of illegal aliens,” the  Republican governor said in a written statement. “We need to remind  President Obama that we elected a president that serves beneath the law and did not anoint a king that is above the law.”

According to Facebook policy, moderators  remove posts when they fall under the categories of threat, bullying and  harassment, hate speech, graphic violence, sex and nudity, theft,  vandalism or fraud, identity and privacy, intellectual property,  phishing and spam.https://bunkerville.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/arizona.jpg?w=300

Dichotomy of Anniversaries

Today marks the 150th Anniversary of the first shot fired in what became the bloodiest battle these United States has ever seen.   And this battle was about much more than slavery as it is so well defined by ALLEN C. GUELZO  in today’s New York Post editorial:

“On the day Lincoln was inaugurated in 1861, the United States was the only large-scale example of a democracy left in the world. There had been others — but from 1789 until 1861, all of those other struggles for democracy had been snuffed out by kings, emperors and dictators of various sorts.

If the American democracy shattered itself because seven states weren’t willing to abide by the outcome of the presidential election, then every one of those kings, emperors and dictators would be able to say to their nations, “See what democracy gets you? Instability. Disorder.”

We do well, for both its cost and its lesson, not to forget how dearly bought democracy’s survival was.

Gibbs to join Facebook – White House will control social media

Hot Air seems to be trying to figure out why Bob is in the front row for a seat with Face Book.

Facebook interested in hiring Robert Gibbs for some reason

A job for Mr. Gibbs at Facebook could be worth millions of dollars. While details of his potential compensation package have yet to be discussed, people briefed on the talks said that he would receive a cash salary as well as shares ahead of the initial offering. Facebook is being valued by some investors at more than $60 billion and could be the largest offering in history.

Here is what is going on with Facebook right now regarding Israel  from Yid with Lid:

There is an attack against Israeli Jews happening on Facebook but the social media site refuses to shut the incitement down. Its called the Third Palestinian Intifada, and the site is almost totally in Arabic. The ‘Third Palestinian Intifada’, urges its readers to copy the link, place it in their profiles and publish it on all pictures, videos and pages – everywhere they can. An alert announces that a march to “Palestine” will begin from neighboring countries on May 15 and soon after, “Palestine will be liberated and we will be freed. Our goal now is to reach millions of subscribers on this page before May.”

The page also includes hateful language  calling for its supporters supporters to build on the previous two murderous previous intifadas in which Arab terrorists murdered and wounded thousands of Israeli civilians and caused the death and injury of thousands of innocent Palestinians.

The Facebook page directs readers to supplementary content on other sites such as Twitter and You Tube. And ends with a warning to Facebook. “If Facebook Blocks this page..All Muslims Will Boycott Facebook Forever.” Full Story over at Yid with Lid:

Clinton snubbed by ‘Youth Group Leaders” in Egypt

So, Hillary, not everything working out as you had planned? We have posted like it seems forever on the State Dept and Hillary setting up meetings for the purpose of agitating the youth into revolt. Here is one of our posts: Who all is involved in the Egyptian uprising? The April 6th, and January 25th meetings were key. Another round-up of our posts: Obama Egypt Google and the State Dept.: A Revolution

A spokesman for Clinton had no immediate response to the snub. Another State Department official, who would not speak for attribution, confirmed such a meeting had been slated for Tuesday and noted that she still plans to meet with members of civil society and transitional government officials during her visit, during which she will urge Egyptians to continue on the path towards democracy.

“There was an invitation for members of the coalition to meet Secretary of State Hillary Clinton but based on her negative position from the beginning of the revolution and the position of the US administration in the Middle East, we reject this invitation,” the January 25 Revolution Youth Coalition said in a statement posted on its Facebook page. Clinton addresses the group back in 2009:

Iraq’s ‘Day of Rage’ – so much for U.S. helping out

It seems that this bit of trivia is falling through the cracks.  While I supported the war effort and getting rid of Sadam Hussein, it has come to the point that they need to get their act together pronto. Out we go… Thanks google, once again stirring up the pot:

The demonstrations have been discussed for weeks on Facebook and in other Internet groups, inspired by the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt. More people were expected to join after Friday prayers

Jared Cohen and Jason Liebman (Founders of the Alliance for Youth Movements) were asked about the concern on the social networking push in Iraq while on their paid State Dept trip in 2009.

They were asked, citing extremists, as well as people just “pissed off because they dont have electricity”, werent they concerned about this being used negatively in poorly developed or still developing democracies. Cohen’s first response is incoherent-so much so that another reporter has to bring it up again. Read Google Iraq: Breaking Baghdad

It is time. Here tis:

Iraqi security forces trying to disperse crowds of demonstrators in northern Iraq killed 5 people Friday as thousands rallied in cities across the country during what has been billed as the “Day of Rage.”

Baghdad was virtually locked down, with soldiers deployed en masse across the central part of the city, searching protesters trying to enter Liberation Square and closing off the plaza and side streets with razor wire, AP reports. The protests have targeted the country’s corruption, high unemployment, and poor public services. “We want a good life like human beings, not like animals,” one Baghdad protester said, denouncing a government that dwells in Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone. “The government of the Green Zone is terrified of the people’s voice,” he said.

The protests stretched from the northern city of Mosul to the southern city of Basra, reflecting the widespread anger many Iraqis feel at the government’s seeming inability to improve their lives.

A crowd of angry marchers in the northern city of Hawija, 150 miles (240 kilometers) north of Baghdad, tried to break into the city’s municipal building, said the head of the local city council, Ali Hussein Salih. That prompted security forces to fire into the air.

Muntazer al-Zaidi, the Iraqi journalist who shot to fame after throwing a shoe at George W. Bush, was arrested yesterday for encouraging people to join today’s protests, Reuters reports. His family say he and his brother were taken away by security forces; they don’t know where the two are being held. At least five Iraqi protesters were killed by security forces today as thousands of demonstrators massed in cities across the country for a “Day of Rage.”

Google is at it again: Iraq-Baghdad and the New Islamic Omma Party

I have done a number of stories on the connection between Google executives, Hillary Clinton and the State department in fermenting unrest in the Middle East.  Obama Egypt Google and the State Dept: Revolution

Douglas Stewart  did much of the original work that Glenn Beck used in his expose on this despicable story. State Department, the Alliance of Youth Movement, (AYM) and Obama- perfect combo. He has now developed another great expose. This time it is Iraq.

So Doug from Ameristroika ..take it away.

Once again we have uncanny insight and concern about the unintended consequences of a joint project between the State Department, Google, and the Alliance for Youth Movements. The griefs of the Iraqi protesters  are economic and they are being pushed by the “new” Islamic Nation Party (Omma) However, the State Department is ecstatic at the recent success in Egypt. Yesterday, citing Egypt specifically, they announced that they would more than double their funding for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s).

Secretary Clinton announced that the Department would be bringing together groups from “more than 20 nations” in order to “take advantage of this historic moment.” However, that may be an understatement. After Monday’s announcement from the Omma Party I received an email text message from a private security contractor currently working in the region. “Coming home. Bad news-we got a caliphate on our hands.” Welcome to the new “civil society” sponsored by the State Department. Rather than encourage citizens to run for office and compete in the war of ideas, the pro-democracy agenda is pushed through fomenting anger and raising hell.

While the world focuses on protests in Bahrain little or no time has been given to the newly formed Islamic Umma (Omma) Party and the connection to the violent protests in Iraq . It was initially reported that the group consisted of ten Saudi’s petitioning the Saudi King in order to move towards democracy and advance social justice.

However, the new Islamic Umma Party isn’t new at all. Founding member Abdel Aziz al-Wahaibi runs Ommahconf.com, the groups sister site and both are created and serviced by Plex Plus , a Jordanian based firm. It is at OmmahConf.com that we find a much deeper agenda for uniting the Arab world under the “Islamic Nation”.

One of the stated goals released earlier this week was to sweep the Iraqi occupation into the “dustbin of history”. They site exactly what is needed: Young Leaders, Simple Logos and sharing [electronic] Media, i.e. Social Networking in order to “overthrow the government”. Protests in Iraq are absent from our media even as “2,000 stone throwing demonstrators attacked local government offices, setting fire to some buildings, including the governor’s house.” In Nasir, dozens stormed into a municipal building setting it on fire- In Mosul a spokesman for the provincial government was gunned down in a drive-by shooting. That was yesterday. Today a Kurdish party building was attacked by more than 1,000 protesters.
