Obama, Graham and Trump all thought the world was in a shit storm

What a few years will do to Senator Graham.Donald Trump used tough language and Graham blasts him. Here is Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) calling Mexico a hellhole. Followed in the clip by Sessions feeling the “love.”

Powerline:

Snip…If he (Trump) did, and if doing so hurt America, then Sen. Durbin and others in the room should have kept Trump’s statement to themselves. No patriotic American would hurt this country’s international standing just to embarrass the president or in the hope of gaining a little leverage in negotiations (which, I’m pretty sure, Durbin has failed to do).

But patriotism has never been Dick Durbin’s long suit. During the Bush administration, he compared American soldiers to Nazis, Soviets, and Pol Pot. (See video below).

Now that the alleged “s***hole” comment is out there, we’re starting to hear, inevitably, about comparable remarks made by others. The Daily Caller reminds us that President Obama referred to Libya as a “s***show,” which it surely was. In 2016, Atlantic, quoting Obama, reported:

“So we actually executed this plan as well as I could have expected: We got a UN mandate, we built a coalition, it cost us $1 billion — which, when it comes to military operations, is very cheap. We averted large-scale civilian casualties, we prevented what almost surely would have been a prolonged and bloody civil conflict. And despite all that, Libya is a mess.

Mess is the president’s diplomatic term; privately, he calls Libya a “shit show,” in part because it’s subsequently become an ISIS haven — one that he has already targeted with air strikes. It became a shit show, Obama believes, for reasons that had less to do with American incompetence than with the passivity of America’s allies and with the obdurate power of tribalism.

:Snip…..And if I’m wrong about this — if Trump’s comments have materially harmed the U.S. in its foreign relations — then Dick Durbin should not have let word of the comment leave the room.

Dick Durbin and his wife – Two swamp creatures from the Black Lagoon

Arkansas Senator denies hearing ‘shithole’ remark from Dick Durbin

Where were the GOPers last week when the story broke? First it was “I don’t recall hearing those words.”  Durbin has a history of lying and after all he is just another swamp creature. His wife is a lobbyist don’t you know.

Don’t you love these sanctimonious tweeps who feed at the trough? The new thing is you just have your wife scurry about Congress and other governmental agencies in the role as a “lobbyist” and guess what happens? A little “something” finds its way into a bill.

Flashback to The Chicago Tribune . It appears Senator Dick Durbin’s wife is a lobbyist . It appears Dick Durbin voted on the Department of Education budget which had money that wound up with Eastern Illinois University.

Loretta Durbin, the wife of Sen. Dick Durbin, began lobbying in 1998. The following list at the link below includes her clients since 2000, the earliest year for which state lobbying disclosure records are available online. Her Springfield-based firms have lobbied the governor’s office, the General Assembly and state agencies for its clients, but she said she does not lobby at the federal level to avoid conflicts of interest with her husband.  The list of her clients is dated, but you get the drift.

Dick and Loretta Durbin – Feeding at the trough of the American Taxpayers

The new thing is you just have your wife scurry about Congress and other governmental agencies in the role as a “lobbyist” and guess what happens? A little “something” finds its way into a bill. One of the most egregious is Congressman’s Mike Rodgers wife, In case you missed it and why the Benghazi hearing never got anywhere. Rodgers faux Benghazi report and his wife’s Defense interests But let me not get ahead of myself. Let’s look at Durbin.

GOP leads in eight races for Democrat-held Senate seats

Hot Air has a great post covering the Senate races and worthy of a full read for those needing a bit of good news. Anyone ever hear of Jim Oberweis? Looks like he is closing the gap on Dick Durbin. Now that would be a coup. Even to cause Dick a sweat is worthy of a report. Video at end of post on the unbelieving media. Other reports out there indicate additional House seats should be picked off. Here we go.

Hot Air was leaked an advance copy of last week’s much-anticipated Politico/GWU Battleground poll, which was packed with more than a few hopeful morsels for conservatives. This weekend’s polling volley applies those national trends to roughly a dozen contests across the 2014 Senate landscape — the contours of which are outlined here.  An overview of the fresh data:

Republicans remain poised to net three additional open seats with relative ease, holding commanding leads in Montana (16 points), South Dakota (14 points) and West Virginia(24 points) — where Shelley Moore Capito is on the brink of becoming the state’s first Republican Senator since the 1950′s, and its first-ever female Senator of any party.  The two most closely-watched Senate races for GOP-controlled seats appear to be inching toward the “safe” category for Republicans.  David Perdue leads Michelle Nunn by six points in Georgia, while Mitch McConnell is ahead of Alison Lundergan Grimes (47/42) in Kentucky.  NBC’s new poll shows McConnell opening up an eight-point lead in the race; CNN’s recent poll gave the Senate Republican Leader a four-point edge. Big picture, Republicans appear favored — for now — to retain all of the seats they currently control; they’re also leading, at least nominally, in eight contests for Democrat-held seats.  Plus, they’re very competitive in at least three others.  The GOP needs to net six seats to regain control of Congress’ upper chamber in November.  If the current polling snapshot were to hold up (a big if, of course), Harry Reid would be facing a demotion.

Here we go with a clip of the Durbin – Oberweis race

Natasha Korecki is joined by Mary Mitchell, Madeleine Doubek and Dave McKinney to discuss Jim Oberweis closing the gap on Dick Durbin and the contrast of Bruce Rauner’s $140,000 wine club and Pat Quinn living on $79 for a week.

Durbin says, lets get rid of tax-payers student loan debt, while we are at it, control textbooks

One can only imagine what will be in those subsidized textbooks, can’t we? Better yet, we knew all along that when the government took over student loans, forgiveness was always the intent. But as usual, that which we warned about now sees the light of day. Get rid of these Commies this fall, as least as many as we can. Al Franken springs to life on this one. Elizabeth Warren to the rescue in this one as well. Is there nothing they will do to sell their soul for a few votes?

Durbin is working in coordination with Democrat Senators Elizabeth Warren and Jack Reed, who have also introduced student-focused legislation designed to turn out the youth vote in November. (Laugh line here.)

Illinois Review reports
In an attempt to gin up the youth vote for the November election, U.S. Senator Richard “Dick” Durbin has co-sponsored and written legislation that will allow students who declare bankruptcy to get rid of their taxpayer-financed student loan debt, and subsidize (again with tax money) textbook purchases.

At the moment, student debt, which is the result of ever-increasing tuition costs driven by government subsidized student loans, cannot be erased by filing bankruptcy. Durbin thinks this is wrong and argues that the government must step in and protect students from the debt they’ve accrued as a result of government loans. He’s calling his bill a student-loans “bill of rights.”

In addition, Durbin has introduced legislation called the Affordable College Textbook Act, which is co-sponsored by Minnesota Senator Al Franken (D). The bill would create a taxpayer-subsidized grant program for colleges and universities around the country to develop and expand the use of open-source textbooks. In other words, working taxpayers would now pay for the writing, updating, printing, and use of textbooks, which would then be free online for students.
Government created the problem of high tuition by subsidizing it : now Senate Durbin wants to stick the taxpayers with the bill. What’s really creepy is Dick Durbin will get into the text book writing business. Senator Durbin appears to believe in the central planning of Mikhail Suslov. –

was a Sovietstatesman during the Cold War. He served as Second Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1965, and as unofficial Chief Ideologue of the Party until his death in 1982. Suslov was responsible for party democracy and the separation of power within the Communist Party. His hardline attitude toward change made him one of the foremost anti-reformist Soviet leaders.

Born in rural Russia in 1902, Suslov became a member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) in 1921 and studied economics for much of the 1920s. He left his job as a teacher in 1931 to pursue politics full-time, becoming one of the many Soviet politicians who took part in the mass repression begun by Joseph Stalin‘s regime. Suslov impressed the Soviet leadership to such an extent in the pre-Eastern Front Soviet Union that he was made First Secretary of Stavropol Krai administrative area. During the war, Suslov headed the local Stavropol guerilla movement. He became a member of the Organisational Bureau (Orgburo) of the Central Committee in 1946 and, four years later, was elected to the Presidium (Politburo) of the All-Union Communist Party.
