New York Schools features Van Jones anti-cop lesson plan

Do you wonder where these marchers against the Police have come from? They are our own school based indoctrinated children who are being taught to hate cops. Let me take you back in my way back machine and drag out an old post. Yes, our man Van Jones is giving it to us under the guise of Common Core. Posted December, 2010.

A new Human Rights Curriculum that was recently introduced to middle schools and high schools all across New York is a disservice to students because it wastes precious instruction time which would be more wisely spent on academic fundamentals. Big Government

Last Friday, December 10, over 1,000 New York students took part in the inaugural webcast of the “Speak Truth to Power” curriculum distributed by the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights and New York State United Teachers

Bill Bennett gets paid to shill for Common Core Standards

To say I am disappointed to learn this is an understatement. For many years I listened to Bennett as I drove to work. When I weary of Fox, I will flip and go online and catch him there. I wrote off his over covered topic of Education due to his earlier career in Government as Secretary of Education under Reagan. A position this very man frequently dismissed as a Dept. that should be done away with. Lately, though I have found myself tuning him out when this topic came up, now I know why. What is the matter Bill? Not enough money in the bank? That is a joke. No just another paid hack like the rest of your ilk. Bye Bill.

While in a Wall Street Journal op-ed on Wednesday, former Reagan Secretary of Education Bill Bennett put out what was described as the “Conservative Case for Common Core,” he admitted he is paid by a lobbying firm for his continued work in support of the controversial standards.

Bennett’s admission, reported by Politico, that the public relations, lobbying, and business consulting firm DCI Group paid him to write the op-ed perhaps explains why it doesn’t sound much like the writing of the Reagan appointee who agreed with his president that there was no real necessity for a federal Department of Education.

But not only does Bennett not adhere to true conservative principles in his piece, he also doesn’t seem to know much about the Common Core standards that he’s being paid to sell to the American people.

Bennett seems to be either just towing the pro-Common Core line (that’s his paid job), or doesn’t understand the Common Core 101 connection between the Core and the textbooks and the testing. Students will take Common Core-aligned multi-state standardized, federally-funded tests, and their school districts have chosen Common Core-aligned textbooks and instructional materials that tell them what they will read and learn in order to pass the consortia’s tests.

Unfortunately, Bennett’s piece is steeped in the same old, same old pro-Common Core talking points.

“Governors, state education administrators and teachers used these principles as a guide when they developed a set of common standards that were later presented to the country as Common Core,” he writes. “Forty-five states signed up originally.”

Common Core: Students asked to write Essay -‘Did the Holocaust really happen?’

Just wait until we get Common Core throughout our country and implemented.. We then can have Mohammad’s take on why the Muslim Brotherhood and Sharia law are swell. Got to educate the students when our kids are youngins. In this case Eighth Graders. Sounds about the right age to get them started on the road to become a little anti-Semite.tHot Air

: The  school called this “an exercise in critical thinking,” but the most important lesson from this Rialto school is that its educators need instruction in it. This middle school tasked its eighth-graders to study whether the worst genocide of the 20th century actually happened, or whether it was a myth designed for “political and monetary gain.” It also sent students to an Australian Holocaust-denier website for one of its principal sources (via Twitchy)

But don’t worry, the district’s interim superintendent Mohammad Z. Islam (not making that up) says he’s on the case.

H/T Weasel Zippers: California Students Asked to Write Essay About Whether The Holocaust Really Happened, Or If It Was “Merely A Political Scheme” To Create The State of Israel…

Via KTLA:

The Rialto school district planned to revise an eighth-grade assignment that raised red flags by asking students to consider arguments about whether the Holocaust — the systematic killing by the Nazis of some 6 million Jews a and implemented millions of others — was not an “actual event” but instead a “propaganda tool that was used for political and monetary gain.”

In a statement released Monday, a spokeswoman for the Rialto Unified School District said an academic team was meeting to revise the assignment.

Interim Superintendent Mohammad Z. Islam was set to talk with administrators to “assure that any references to the holocaust ‘not occurring’ will be stricken on any current or future Argumentative Research assignments,” a statement from district spokeswoman Syeda Jafri read. […]

The 18-page assignment instructions included three sources that students were instructed to use, including one that stated gassings in concentration camps were a “hoax” and that no evidence has shown Jews died in gas chambers.

“With all this money at stake for Israel, it is easy to comprehend why this Holocaust hoax is so secretly guarded,” states the source, which is a attributed to a webpage on biblebelievers.org.au. “In whatever way you can, please help shatter this profitable myth. It is time we stop sacrificing America’s welfare for the sake of Israel and spend our hard-earned dollars on Americans.”

“ADL does not have any evidence that the assignment was given as part of a larger, insidious, agenda,” the blog post read. “Rather, the district seems to have given the assignment with an intent, although misguided, to meet Common Core standards relating to critical learning skills.”

In her statement provided to KTLA, Jafri said the district’s “CORE team” would meet to revise the prompt.

Police order parents off school grounds for not wanting school testing

You will comply, you will comply. Anyone want to bet the next step is to charge the parents will child abuse, gather the kids and turn them over to “social services’? Put them in a foster home with some really good parents that perhaps, if lucky, the agency will remember where they put them. Common Core, you will teach your child government propaganda.

Recall  Ed Secretary Duncan: ‘White suburban moms upset about Common Core’ guess why?

In June, he told a convention of newspaper editors that Core critics were misinformed at best and laboring under paranoid delusions at worst. Duncan said:

The Common Core has become a rallying cry for fringe groups that claim it is a scheme for the federal government to usurp state and local control of what students learn.

Via WaPo:

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan told a group of state schools superintendents Friday that he found it “fascinating” that some of the opposition to the Common Core State Standards has come from “white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn’t as brilliant as they thought they were, and their school isn’t quite as good as they thought they were.”

Here we go:

On Wednesday Tracy and Mary Finney of Marietta, Georgia were met by a police officer outside their children’s public school and informed they were trespassing on school property because they opposed the school’s process of testing all children.

“We made the decision to opt our kids out of the CRCT,” Tracy Finney told Breitbart News, “because it  has nothing to do with education.”

“The CRCT really boils down to money,” Finney continued. “They use the test scores to ensure Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for government funding. The CRCT is really for government funding.”

Finney said he and his wife oppose the notion of using five days of testing as a “single snapshot of the entire year.”

“If kids score low on the CRCT, potentially they are placed in lower functioning classes,” Finney said.

“On Monday morning, we wrote a letter to our principal, forwarded to the other district administrators and teachers,” he continued. “We said that we refuse to allow our kids to take this test, and that we wanted them to be provided with other things to do during the test period, so that they were not going to ‘sit and stare.’”

Finney said, however, that he received an email from the assistant superintendent of the district, “telling me he reviewed my letter and that I’m not allowed to opt my children out or refuse testing.”

Finney provided a copy of the letter from Dr. Dayton F. Hibbs, associate superintendent, which reads:

The District must deny your request that your students be exempt from participation in the CRCT or other standardized testing as well as reporting and recording of such scores. Federal and state law mandate the administration of these assessments. It is important for you to understand the potential consequences of electing not to participate in such nationally and state- required assessments. These may include but not be limited to effects on students’ on-time graduation, promotion to next grade level, placement and final subject grades. Please refer to Georgia Department of Education Rule 160-4-2-.11, as related to promotion of students in the third and fifth grades. A copy has been attached for your reference.

You also shared concerns regarding the fifth grade field trip. Fifth grade students that are absent any day during the regular testing window will not be permitted to attend the trip. This is not a punishment, but based upon necessity as the trip is scheduled to begin the day after CRCT testing is complete. Therefore, any necessary makeup testing is likely to conflict with the field trip dates.

Ed Secretary Duncan: ‘White suburban moms upset about Common Core’ guess why?

Once again, it is the bitter clinger whites – in this case, women, who want to stop the indoctrination of our children. They are Paranoid, Fringers that are opposed.    Fascinating. Really. Where does this regime find all of these ignorant people. Earlier Duncan said: WaPo:

Yes, he really said that. But he has said similar things before. What, exactly, is he talking about?

In his cheerleading for the controversial Common Core State Standards — which were approved by 45 states and the District of Columbia and are now being implemented across the country (though some states are reconsidering) — Duncan has repeatedly noted that the standards and the standardized testing that goes along with them are more difficult than students in most states have confronted.

The Common Core was designed to elevate teaching and learning. Supporters say it does that; critics say it doesn’t and that some of the standards, especially for young children, are not developmentally appropriate.

In June, he told a convention of newspaper editors that Core critics were misinformed at best and laboring under paranoid delusions at worst. Duncan said:

The Common Core has become a rallying cry for fringe groups that claim it is a scheme for the federal government to usurp state and local control of what students learn. An op-ed in the New York Times called the Common Core “a radical curriculum.” It is neither radical nor a curriculum. … When the critics can’t persuade you that the Common Core is a curriculum, they make even more outlandish claims. They say that the Common Core calls for federal collection of student data. For the record, it doesn’t, we’re not allowed to, and we won’t. And let’s not even get into the really wacky stuff: mind control, robots, and biometric brain mapping.
