Ukrainian Government Votes to Ban Their Largest Orthodox Church Body

Now forcing Nuns and Monks out from their monasteries. Ukraine – Banning religion and the cancellation of elections. This is what we are supporting? This petty little man? Supporting our corrupt politicians is more correct. All Catholic Biden needs to say to Zelensky is knock it off. After all he can get prosecutors fired. 

Here we go:

An ultra-controversial ban on Ukraine’s main religious body, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), has just passed a first-round vote of lawmakers, due to the church maintaining links with the Russian Orthodox Church centered in Moscow.

It comes after Ukrainian security services have conducted several raids against Orthodox monasteries and churches, including the famous Kiev Pechersk Lavra monastery. 

“Draft law number 8371 on the prohibition of religious organizations associated with the Russian Federation was adopted in the first reading,” lawmaker Yaroslav Zhelezniak announced, after it passed 267 to 15.

The UOC blasted the move the get it legally banned as a severe violation of human rights and religious freedoms which violates the European Convention on Human Rights.

Throughout the war, Zelensky officials have alleged – without evidence – that UOC priests and bishops sometimes are facilitators for Russian intelligence and harbor pro-Putin views.

In some recent instances, Orthodox clergy members have seen jail time or have been placed under house arrest, or else harassment by mobs of far-right Ukrainian nationalists, for merely calling for peace between the two countries.

Church World Services breaks law, yet receives refugee resettlement funding

Whatever happened to the separation of Church and State?

Here is a story about the hard Left Church World Service, a federal refugee resettlement contractor, which uses $45 million of your dollars every year to change America by changing the people, is setting up hiding places throughout America where illegal aliens can be placed out of the reach of federal ICE agents.

There should be a law, if you break federal immigration law, you lose your federal funding (come on wimps in Congress!).

They want to resurrect the glory days (as they saw them) where churches broke the law and helped Central Americans get into America and then hid them until they could be spread out to towns across the US.  It was called The Sanctuary Movement.***

It is so apparent that this deportation order is part of a Democrat strategy, most likely cooked up in the White House, because (have you noticed!) no one blasts Obama personally (as they would if this were George Bush or Donald Trump).

EPA to study Churches, develop programs to combat climate change

Now the EPA plans to infiltrate our churches with their agenda. Too many churches have already lost their way in forgetting their purpose and becoming political operatives in my opinion. I have my own issues with the latest Catholic pope but that is a post for another day. No, this is evil personified. Researchers to develop workshops for faith leaders to ‘implement sustainability initiatives within their congregations. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is spending $84,000 to study how churches can be used to combat climate change.

A taxpayer-funded graduate fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is examining 17 faith-based institutions that have implemented “sustainability initiatives” in the hopes of developing workshops to teach pastors and other religious leaders how to change the behaviors of their congregants.

“More Americans belong to religious groups than any other type of voluntary association and faith communities play an important role in facilitating the kind of social transitions that are necessary as the nation responds to climate change,” the grant said, under the section “Potential to Further Environmental/Human Health Protection.”

Christian Stations under pressure to do a ‘Glenn Beck Fast” for Lent

I found this piece over at Christian Post troublesome. Clearly, Glenn Beck attacked and gave a real drubbing to Churches who are heavily involved in so-called “Social Justice” issues. At the time of his attack on those churches, he gave a number of  well thought out, and documented programs describing the evolution of how many of these Churches were becoming  radicalized without really understanding the basis or etiology of the political agenda. I am no big fan of Beck, mainy because I cannot take a steady diet of him. That said, I have learned much and have enjoyed his clips on the Progressive movement. It is hard to argue with primary sources that cannot be denied. Maybe I found this story disturbing  because I too felt a need to leave a Church for these same reasons. I am including a vid of Van Jones describing Social Justice. The group credits Res Publica and True Majority for helping establish itself as a “religious version of MoveOn.org.” Res Publica is a progressive organization largely funded by George Soros’ Open Society Institute and boast board members such as John Podesta of the Center for American Progress and Eli Pariser, executive director of MoveOn.   In 2008, Soros’ Open Society Institute awarded two $400,000 grants to Faithful America.

And the bottom line is no responsible person or company should support programming that promotes menacing conspiracy theories and tells listeners to flee from churches that talk about social justice,” said Faithful America in the statement. “This should go double for a company claiming to represent Christian values.”

“We invite WMCA and WNYM to use this Lenten period to reflect on their Christian values and make a commitment not to pick up Glenn Beck, during the next 40 days or any time after.”

Faithful America, an online community that claims to be made up of over 100,000 people of faith, is calling on two Salem Communications-owned radio stations in New York – WMCA and WNYM – to “give up Glenn Beck for Lent.”

The two Christian radio stations are the only ones left in the New York City area that have not made a commitment to remove Beck from their airwaves, according to Faithful America. From Philadelphia to Madison, radio stations have already dropped Beck’s program from their line-up due to falling ratings and poor content.

“Beck’s caustic remarks, fear-mongering and bigotry have led to a national backlash,” Faithful America asserts in a statement. More at Christian Post

From the Right Scoop:  Van Jones spoke at Guilford College in North Carolina a couple of days ago and defined Social Justice for the audience. He said that if you could write your life on a card and put it in a hat filled with cards from everyone else in your country, and that you could then be totally assured that any card you pulled out would be a good life for you to live, then you know you live in a social justice country.

As the makers of the video points out, that’s communism:

Guess Who’s Coming to the Cathedral? Muslims

American Churches need to take a stand on the brutality taking place under the banner of the Islamic faith. This is a great read  and if you have time, continue on the link at the end of the story

If you were counting on a robust offensive (or even a mild defense) from U.S. churches to stop in its tracks the incursion of Islamism in America, perhaps you should save up to pay your jizya (tax imposed on non-Muslims, dhimmis, for the right to exist). Many churches in America are neither willing nor prepared to counter the influence and infiltration of Islamism in their own congregations, let alone in the wider civil society. Rather than fear the judgment of the Almighty, these churches fear the label “Islamophobic.”

Next week when the Washington National Cathedral of the Episcopal Church hosts a “Christian-Muslim Summit,” March 1-3, 2010. There will be four main speakers and twenty other participants at this “gathering of high-ranking Christian and Muslim leaders for a candid discussion of matters affecting Christian-Muslim relations and peacemaking efforts worldwide” But if this summit is true to form and to all such past events, it will just be another exercise in dhimmitude for most, if not all, of the Christian participants as they fall all over themselves in their efforts to be inoffensive to Islam.

On a website page seemingly designed as an ‘homage’ to Islamic/Arabic art, the participants of the summit are introduced in the typically solemn and self-important tones which the National Cathedral reserves for interfaith events. There are “The Principals,” including two Muslims, Ayatollah Dr. Seyyed Mostafa Mohaghegh Damad Ahmadabadi, professor of law at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran (once known as the National University of Iran, now “Martyr University”), and Professor Dr. Ahmad Mohamed El Tayeb, president of Al-Azhar University in Cairo. This home to such interesting fatwas as death to apostates who leave Islam and approval of adult suckling was recently referred to by President Barack Obama as “a beacon of Islamic learning.”

At this coming summit, there is all the more reason for a multi-national demonstration. In addition to last summer’s slaughter of Iranian protestors and dissidents, American Copts are mourning the recent murders of Egyptian Christians. Christians in Pakistan continue to suffer injustice and violent, murderous attacks. And most Sudanese are extremely angry with Egypt because of its attempts to force a postponement of this year’s national election in Sudan, its complicity in Khartoum’s Arab Islamist racist agenda, and its brutal treatment of Sudanese refugees trying to flee to Israel.
