War Declared With Matt Gaetz Chosen as Attorney General – Resigns from Congress

Well that didn’t take long. The Trump honeymoon ended with a bang. With the announcement of Gaetz as AG the shivers went down the spine of those who engaged in Lawfare against the good people of America. For them, its 1984. Then, without any warning Matt abruptly resigns from congress.

Mike Johnson revealed that Gaetz stepped down from his post due to a state law that gives an โ€œ8-week period to select and fill a vacant seat.โ€

โ€œIf you start the clock now, if you do the math, we may be able to fill that seat as early as Jan. 3 when we take the new oath of office for the new Congress,โ€ Johnson explained of Gaetzโ€™s reasoning.

Gaetz raised hell in Washington, DC, in 2023 with a motion to vacate then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy, which prevailed and ousted the California Republican from presiding over the House of Representatives. Is the hell being raised against him now with the Ethics investigation part of the swamp trying to smoke him?

The House Ethics Committeeโ€™s years-long investigation into Matt Gaetz over allegations of sexual misconduct ended after the lawmaker resigned from Congress.

Gateway Pundit:

The investigation was reopened in 2023 as Gaetz ramped up challenges to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who was later ousted by Gaetzโ€™s Motion to Vacate the chair. Later, when Gaetz threatened to bring a Motion to Vacate against McCarthy in October 2023, McCarthyโ€™s RINO allies began threatening to expel Gaetz based on the Committeeโ€™s investigation.

Matt Gaetz has denied the allegations.

โ€œThis investigation exists to do what the voters of my district wonโ€™t โ€“ remove me from office,โ€ said Gaetz in September.

The Gateway Pundit reported on the Ethics Committeeโ€™s revival of the junk allegations against Gaetz, even after the Biden DOJ exonerated Gaetz of criminal wrongdoing and dropped the charges in February 2023.

The Hill:

The probe was part of a larger investigation into Gaetzโ€™s ally and former Florida tax collectorย Joel Greenberg,ย who pleaded guilty in 2021 to six federal crimes, including sex trafficking of a minor, identity theft and wire fraud.ย

Greenbergย was sentenced to 11 years in prisonย in December. He agreed to cooperate with the DOJโ€™s investigation as part of his plea agreement.ย

But the investigation into Gaetz hit a roadblock over concerns about the credibility of two witnesses, one of whom was Greenberg. Career attorneys reportedlyย recommended to the DOJย in September that the department not charge Gaetz based on those witness credibility issues.ย

Gaetz has denied the allegations that he had a relationship with an underage girl and said he regrets his association with Greenberg.ย  Read more

So that is where we are. There is no chance of a regular confirmation it would appear. The usual opposition lady Senators from Alaska and Maine have already stated “No.” and we are just getting started.

Trump is counting on a recess appointment. With Thune at the wheel as Speaker, it seems a long shot. McConnell, that nasty man that we thought we were rid of, rises in the name of Thune. McConnell deliberately kept the House in session by way of a technicality, intentionally, to deny Trump any recess appointments.

The result was that many of his picks took up over three years to get confirmed. Especially the ambassadors. One of the reasons that Trump was adamant that the next speaker not repeat this unpleasant history. Perhaps too now that we know his cabinet selections.

Maetz has limited friends. A lot of capital will be expended trying to get Maetz across the finish line.

It is clear. The Donald intends to play for keeps with the DOJ. No wonder so many are shaking in their boots.

Thune when asked about recess appointments. This was before the Gaetz appointment.

It is a curious thing this Matt Gaetz.

Weissmann responds. 1984 is here.

MSNBC legal analyst Andrew Weissmann said Wednesday on โ€œDeadlineโ€ that President-elect Donald Trumpโ€™s nomination of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) as his attorney general marks the United Statesโ€™ entry into โ€œpure George Orwell 1984 land.โ€

Host Nicolle Wallace said, โ€œOn Monday, he made the announcement that he would turn to recess appointments. Itโ€™s obvious that this trio of Fox News anchors, Matt Gaetz, whose biggest war in Washington is with Kevin McCarthy, and Tulsi Gabbard, was what the recess appointment was all about.โ€

One of a kind. You have to give the man credit. Here he goes, taking on Garland.

Comcast Looking to Sell MSNBC as Ratings Collapse

Wouldn’t it be grand if Elon swooped in and picked up MSNBC? Comcast is looking for a way to stop the bleeding on their balance sheet. With over a $100 Billion in debt, we aren’t just talking a little scratch. Just before the election the rumors from reliable sources indicated that Comcast was looking to find a way out.

Right Scoop gives us the latest numbers:

It was reported last night that MSNBC ratings have completely cratered since President-elect Trump won the election and this comes amid news that Comcast is ready to get rid of the network to the highest bidder.

Hereโ€™s the ratings report from Fox News anchor Liz MacDonald:

Major Nielsen ratings plunge at MSNBC since Trump won, practically every day since.
Just one example โ€“ 10/30 Wednesday vs Fri 11/8 โ€“

  • Morning Joe 1st hour โ€“ down 39.6%
  • Morning Joe 2d hour โ€“ down 36.9%
  • Andrea Mitchell โ€“ down 39.7%
  • Ari Melber โ€“ down 49.6%
  • Joy Reidโ€™s Reidout โ€“ down 54.6%
  • All-in w Chris Hayes โ€“ down 47.2%
  • Alex Wagner Tonight- down 53.6%
  • Lawrence Oโ€™Donnell โ€“ down 60.6%
  • Stephanie Ruhle โ€“ down 67%

Looks like it may be bye bye to Joe and Mika. Throw in Rachael Maddow.

The total debt on the Comcast balance sheet as of September 2024 : $101.36 Billion USD. According to Comcast’s latest financial reports the company’s total debt is $101.36 Billion USD. A company’s total debt is the sum of all current and non-current debts.

  • Comcast’s total debt was $101.36 billion, with total liabilities of $183.33 billion and total shareholder’s equity of $85.77 billion. ย

    ย
  • Shareholder equity
As of December 31, 2022, Comcast’s total shareholders equity was $80.9 billion, which was less than its net debt of $91.2 billion.
    ย
    ย

Similar to other pay TV operators, Comcast lost a substantial number of subscribers in recent years. In the second quarter of 2024, the company recorded about 13.2 million pay TV subscribers, down by nearly two million in just one year. As ofJul 24, 2024.

The second part of the video discuses the huge Google fine.

Trump’s Plan for Massive Layoffs of Federal Workers

โ€œI would say there is a general feeling of dread among everyone,โ€ one Energy Department employee told CNN. Add to it about every department in the government looks to be excised and/or reduced under Trump. As the shock of last week’s Trump win sets in, employees who have enjoyed sitting/working at home these last couple of years, see the hatchet coming.

After you get past CNN’s hyperbole in their story below, they do a decent job of explaining just how Trump intends to accomplish the feat. Well worth sliding over and reading the whole thing. Laying waste to 110k of D.C. workers indeed would make a good start.

CNN:

In his first term, Trump sidelined and ridiculed civil servants and service members, silenced government offices and stifled scientific research. Many workers quit; others stuck it out, hopeful that the 2020 election would bring a new boss in the White House.

Now they face another four years of Trump โ€“ a term that by his own account will be worse for the government workforce than his first.

โ€œWe are absolutely having conversations among ourselves about whether we can stomach a round two,โ€ an employee at the Environmental Protection Agency said.

How Trump could gut the government

Trumpโ€™s purge could be the biggest change to the federal workforce since the late 1800s, returning the federal government to the โ€œspoils systemโ€ of 1883 when victorious political parties gave government jobs to their supporters, said Max Stier, the president and CEO of Partnership for Public Service. The spoils system was replaced by the current merit-based system where career employees serve multiple administrations, carrying out their jobs independent of politics.

โ€œWhatโ€™s at stake here is the nature of our government, how it works and who it works for,โ€ Stier told CNN.

A Trump transition team spokeswoman didnโ€™t respond to CNNโ€™s questions about when Schedule F might be put in place, or how many workers it could impact.

โ€œThe American people re-elected President Trump by a resounding margin giving him a mandate to implement the promises he made on the campaign trail,โ€ Trump transition spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. โ€œHe will deliver.โ€

Mass firings likely wonโ€™t happen on day one. The Biden administration erected temporary roadblocks at the federal Office of Personnel Management โ€“ rules aimed at protecting federal workers from retaliatory mass firings.

But Bidenโ€™s rule was never codified by Congress and could easily be reversed.

…In addition to Schedule F, the new administration is expected to use several other tactics to excise federal employees, such as mass transfers of senior executives and relocation of agency offices. Trump did this in his first term, moving the Bureau of Land Management headquarters from Washington, DC, to Grand Junction, Colorado โ€“ prompting 287 employees to either resign or retire. In aย 2023 campaign video, Trump promised to move โ€œas many as 100,000 government positionsโ€ out of DC.

The Media’s Autopsy on why Harris Lost

I confess. As wonderful as the election night result was last week, watching the Dems suffer excruciating pain at their loss was equally enjoyable. Just how far have they come in self awareness?

“Harris’s campaign was “flawlessly run” and that the real cause are “misogyny and racism.”

Shocked I tell you. Simply shocked.

Perfect. Let’s bury the legacy media once and for all.

So now the question is whether the media can pull back from the attacks, or will they continue to be the echo chamber for the disaffected who lost. Democrats might be well served by keeping in mind that every two years House members come up again for re-election. It would be a good time to revive the old “Blue Dog Democrats.” Supporting Trump might well be in their best interest.

That’s all she wrote. Have a wonderful day.

Sunday Respite – ‘Land of Forever’

Most of us probably feel we have been through the wringer this week. How about a bit of “chill to” music?

A beautiful piece of music with exquisite photography. What could be better for a Sunday Respite.

From the group 2002 Band, entitled โ€œLand of Forever.โ€

Among the Celtic legends is the epic story of the mystical land of Tรญr Na nร“g, (Land of Eternal Youth). Itโ€™s a land that knows no sorrow and where nobody ever ages. The beautiful Princess Niamh lives there. If a traveler should find their way there and stay for a few days, they may find when they return to their own land that hundreds of years have passed. This song is from the 1998 album, Land of Forever.

NY AG Letitcia James Arrogant and Distasteful Remarks Post Trump Win

Despicable and arrogant describe NY AG James and her rant after the Trump election. Yet the push for Trump to “unify” for healing is on. Of course it is. Many are justifiably concerned about their participation in this law fare nonsense. The anxiety is palpable to them and to others who may have simply given it a wink. They and others had already convinced themselves he is a dictator. So the hysteria must be rampant. What about those detention camps?

Retribution? No, some say. The olive branch must be extended say others. So what to do with the problem of Letitcia? Trump’s lawyer, Mike Davis, shares his view at the conclusion of the post.

AG James:

James reiterated throughout her speech that her office is “prepared to fight back once again,” adding that her office, as well as other Democratic attorney generals across the country, are “guardians of the law.”

She told New Yorkers on Wednesday, “We’ve created contingency plans, so no matter what the next administration throws at us, we’re ready. We’re ready to respond to their attacks. We’re ready to respond to any attempts to cut or eliminate any funding to the great state of New York.”

James said during the conference, “We will continue to stand tall in the face of injustice, revenge, or retribution.” Source Newsweek.

She goes on to attempt to intimidate.

The question is pondered over at Legal Insurrection. Retribution or the olive branch.

So now we turn to William A. Jacobson over at legal Insurrection.

โ€˜Resistanceโ€™ Lawfare Abusers Must Be Held Accountable

Trump โ€œcan unify the nation, he can unify communities, but these nasty, malicious people who abused our prosecutorial system, who abused their public office, who engaged in what amounted to extortion against Republicans and Trump supporters, they need to be held to account.โ€

On theย full podcastย today I discussed the damage done by the private and public lawfare against Trump supporters, Republicans more generally, and anyone who got in the way of Democrats.

Here is a video of a portion of his remarks. An extended transcript of some of his remarks are below the video.

ย
ย
ย

.

The spark for that discussion wasย a tweetย by Will Chamberlain of the Article 3 Project:

Thereโ€™s going to be a lot of talk about Trump needing to โ€œextend the olive branch.โ€ NO.

If he had lost, he would have been jailed. And for his support of Trump, Elon likely would have been bankrupted and jailed.

Those who launched the lawfare must be held accountable.

He doesnโ€™t need to persecute random Democrats. He does need to ensure that his DOJ investigates Fani Willis, Nathan Wade, Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, Jack Smith, and Merrick Garland.

I discussed the need for accountability in the podcast excerpt below:

There were a lot of people hurt by this outgoing administration, of which Harris was an integral part. Lives were destroyed, lives were ruined. Reputations were damaged, people were prosecuted, people were bankrupted. And Iโ€™m not even talking about people arrested in connection with January 6, but all over the place.

Thereโ€™s an effort by Democrats to go after the Bar licenses of lawyers who fought on the Republican side. They even announced and launched an initiative โ€” I think itโ€™s called Project 65, though I might be wrong on the name. Their goal is to make Republican lawyers toxic in their communities. They want to go after their licenses; they want to scare Republican lawyers away from doing what lawyers do. I mean, these are bad people, and they need to be held to account.

Prosecutors who went out of control, prosecutors who announced as part of their political campaign that their goal was to use their public office, if elected, to go after Donald Trump and his family โ€” those people need to be investigated and held to account.

One of the things I noticed very clearly in Trumpโ€™s speech last night was how conciliatory it was, how positive it was. He said, you know, we will unify the country through success, essentially sort of a โ€œrising tide raises all boatsโ€ argument. And that is Trump. The media portrays him as the most vindictive, nasty person, but that is actually Trump. Thatโ€™s what he tried to do his first term.

But there are also people on the internet, on Twitter, who are saying, โ€œNo, youโ€™ve got to go after these people now.โ€

I was even thinking of doing a reader poll, Should Trump unify the nation or get even?

And as I wrote it out and was about to do it, I realized itโ€™s not a binary choice. Itโ€™s not one or the other. He can unify the nation, he can unify communities, but these nasty, malicious people who abused our prosecutorial system, who abused their public office, who engaged in what amounted to extortion against Republicans and Trump supporters, they need to be held to account.

So, I would say do both. President Trump: unify the nation, but also create task forces and create special counsel to go after the corrupt people who tried to destroy our society, not just destroy you, but destroy your supporters and people who disagreed with them. Those people need to be held accountable. Donโ€™t let your laudable goal of unifying the nation get in the way of holding those people accountable.

I will include a link to his podcast for the full remarks.Legal Insurrection.

Trump’s Lawyer Mike Davis closes out the post with his views on the matter.

“The View” Hostin Rages At White Women

The Irony of it all. It was Harris and her appearance on the view that put her on the fast track of her decline.

When asked whether she would do anything differently than Biden, after a long pause, said “no.” So now these same ladies melt down over the Harris loss. And it wasn’t just the gals of “The View”

Trump’s victory brought about the very worst in the left leaners on TV. Apparently learning nothing, they go to bash the very people who have had enough of faux racist misogynisticย rhetoric.

Of course the view was in full tilt with everyone wearing black.

Co-host Sunny Hostin gave it her best in giving viewers her racist opinion when looking for an easy take for on why Kamala Harrisย lost.

Heinrich quoted Li as saying thatย Harrisย โ€œknows [what] a mistake [it] was to say on โ€˜The Viewโ€™ that she couldnโ€™t think of a single thing that she would do differently from the Biden administrationโ€

Rather than admitting Harrisโ€™ many faults during her campaign, Hostin took to blaming the defeat on certain people of a certain race.

After telling her fellow panelists that, โ€œblack women tried to save this country,โ€ while also giving credit to Latinas for their support, Hostin went after white women without an education and Latino men.โ€œWhat we did not have is white women who voted about 52 percent, right? For Donald Trump. Uneducated white women is my understanding. You have Latino men, actually voting more for him,โ€ Hostin explained.

Adding to the doom and gloom, they veer off into the internment camps. The extended version.

Who are the people who put themselves through this program on a regular basis?

Final Harris Staged Event – Tells People to Go Back Inside for Another Door Knock

This sums up the faux campaign of Kamala Harris. One wonders who on her campaign staff thought her going “door knocking” was an excellent use of her time. There is zero way any of these people were not cleared as good Kamala voters and we all know this. So the charade on the final day in the final hour, this is what we get from Harris.

No doubt if she is elected, this same person will head up some department.

Apparently there was no prompter.

Let’s wrap this whole thing up with Tucker.

Good luck and God Bless America.
