BUEI Curriculum Enrichment Classes & Labs

With a wide range of resources about the marine environment at our fingertips, the BUEI Classes and Labs include a combination of hands-on activities, multimedia demonstrations and data sets, a plethora of specimens and artifacts, and reinforcement with exhibits and presentations.

Eco-Schools Bermuda

BUEI is the national operator for Eco-Schools Bermuda – part of a global recognition and award programme from the Foundation for Environmental Education. Eco-Schools is an action-oriented, project-based learning opportunity that introduces sustainable practices to students and the school campus. BUEI educators coach the students and school leaders through a seven-step process that leads to awards and the prestigious Green Flag. It is our hope for all schools in Bermuda to become an Eco-School!

Guided Exhibit Tours in the Ocean Discovery Centre

The BUEI museum is filled with information and fun interactive activities. Read about each exhibit and see sneak-peak photos on our Ocean Discovery Centre page. Our staff are happy to give a private tour of any of the exhibits, from 20 minutes to 1 hour. You can bring a field trip to the museum, or one of our educators can take you on a virtual tour. Museum Exhibit Scavenger Hunt

Need to keep your museum visit exciting and make sure your students remember some interesting facts? We’ve got you covered. With a school visit to the BUEI museum, we can provide scavenger hunts! This way, the students have to explore and research our exhibits to find the answers. These scavenger hunts can be staff guided or self-guided, can be exhibit specific and can be made for any age group.

Films and Presentations

The Tradewinds Auditorium here at BUEI is the perfect space for an educational movie viewing. It has 148 comfortable movie style seats, more than enough space for a school group to be socially distant. Bring in your own media or chose from our large selection on site including movies from our evening sessions, children’s stories and even the full Ocean Vet series!
