No. For the first 10 visits or within 30 days of your first Physical Therapy treatment, you do not need a prescription. After 10 visits or 30 days, whichever comes first, you will need a prescription for physical therapy. Treatment will be denied if you do not have a prescription after the aforementioned time period. This is in line with New York State-Direct Access Law.
We are a cash-based and are out-of-network with all other insurance providers. We do not accept any insurance directly. If you have out-of-network benefits, we can assist you in submitting your claims for reimbursement. The first 10 visits or within 30 days of the first Physical Therapy treatment, out-of-network patients do not need a prescription. After 10 visits or 30 days, whichever comes first, a prescription is required for physical therapy unless you are coming for pelvic floor physical therapy for which you will need a prescription at the initial evaluation. A good faith estimate is available upon request for patients who don’t plan on submitting for out-of-network reimbursement.
We suggest you check with your insurance provider that they cover out-of-network physical therapy. Please email us at hello@inspirapt.com for an Out-of-Network Questionnaire.
Payment is due 24 hours in advance of your appointment. Physical Therapy services may be eligible for out of network coverage from your insurance company. It is the patient's responsibility to know your insurance coverage options and to submit documentation for reimbursement. Your Physical Therapist will provide you with a superbill (billing receipt) upon request. This can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have Out-of-Network benefits for Physical Therapy. Please let your Physical Therapist know if you would like to receive a superbill.
