Fun Twinks has to be the funniest cereal name I’ve ever heard. Edgar Wright takes the absolute mick out of the entire American media network and it’s the funniest thing I’ve seen this year.

I lowkey messed with this. Pure Paul W. S. Anderson sauce. Kurt Russell is doing so much acting just with his eyes and a stiff face, essentially embodying his inner Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator type role. My favourite part was actually the beginning where they’re kinda like in a survival of the fittest training test, but the rest of the film was serviceable too. I definitely could see the Blade Runner resemblance, even if it’s nowhere near that level of filmmaking or quality. Still, pleasantly surprised with this one.

Reviews and ratings appear to be extremely split on this one but damn, I thought it was brilliant! I expected just a normal disaster movie but it was so much more than that and the less you know before watching, the better!
I loved the performances here, they were utterly heartfelt and tore at my emotions in unexpected ways. Honestly, please give this film a chance if you’re even half thinking about watching it. It’s like a puzzle that you get the chance to piece together along the way whilst holding your breath deep underwater.

The longer it went on, the worse it got. That ‘1 minute to impact’ sequence was right up there with one of the worst scenes I’ve seen this year. Imagine films like Unfriended or Searching, but merged with the War of the Worlds premise, resulting in a real mess of a film. Emotional weighted scenes are as light as a feather, relying solely on the acting of Ice Cube. Dare I say more?
