Boson NetSim is a network simulation and lab platform designed to help learners practice configuring and troubleshooting Cisco-based networks without the need for physical hardware. It provides a realistic command-line interface that closely mimics Cisco IOS, so you can build and run topologies with virtual routers and switches and use familiar show and configuration commands.
NetSim includes a substantial library of guided, graded labs aligned to common CCNA and CCNP objectives—covering topics such as VLANs, trunking, STP, inter-VLAN routing, OSPF, EIGRP, ACLs, NAT, DHCP, and IPv6. Each lab offers step-by-step tasks, context-sensitive hints, and immediate feedback with scoring to help you track progress and focus on weak areas. A topology editor lets you create custom networks, experiment safely, and save scenarios for repeated practice. Whether you’re preparing for certification exams or strengthening day-to-day networking skills, NetSim provides a hands-on, self-paced environment that emphasizes real commands and practical workflows.
