Features, Functionality, and Tech | |
When is the launch scheduled? | The launch is planned for the end of the summer in 2025. |
Where can I find a description of BiblioTech features? | You can explore BiblioTech’s features on our website at https://bibliotechsl.com/features/. Additionally, all users can access the User’s Guide within the app to learn more about its functionalities. |
Is BiblioTech compatible with citation tools like Zotero or Endnotes, or does it offer citation details? | BiblioTech is not currently integrated with Zotero or Endnotes. As an EPUB reader with adjustable screen settings, it does not provide page numbers. However, a built-in citation tool is in development. This feature will allow users to cite content by chapter and paragraph—similar to how online sources are cited. We expect this tool to be available at launch or shortly after. |
Can multiple students access the same book at the same time? | Yes, all users covered by the institution’s subscription can borrow and read the same book simultaneously. |
Does BiblioTech have a smart search? | BiblioTech includes a search tool that lets users find words and expressions within the text of the book being read—similar to most EPUB readers. Additionally, we are developing an enhanced search feature that will allow users to find books by subject categories. This feature is expected to be available shortly after launch. |
Does BiblioTech have an audio feature? | Yes, BiblioTech includes an audio tool that uses AI to read books aloud, making content more accessible. Please note that this feature is not available for journals or PDF files. |
Can users download the books? | Books cannot be downloaded outside the BiblioTech app. All files are encrypted, so users can read them only within the app after borrowing them—even without an internet connection. |
Can BiblioTech be integrated with a library management system (LMS)? | BiblioTech is a standalone application with its own encryption system, which prevents integration with external platforms like library management systems (LMS). However, we can provide institutions with our catalog in Excel or CSV format, which they can use to manually incorporate book listings into their systems. |
How can faculty set up books for their courses and assign them to specific students? | Faculty can easily browse and select books directly in the app, which displays the titles available under their institution’s subscription. Once they’ve selected the books for a course, they should notify the institutional account administrator, who will create a special collection and assign it to the students enrolled in that course. This collection will then appear in the app when students log in. For more details, please visit our website. |
Does BiblioTech provide access to ATLA journals database? | No, BiblioTech does not provide access to journal platforms such as ATLA or EBSCO. |
Do you provide training and tech support? | Yes. All institutions receive instructional documents on how to manage their accounts through the Admin Hub. Users also have access to a User Guide that explains how to use BiblioTech across different devices, along with tutorial videos available on our website. Institutional representatives can contact our support team for assistance with any technical issues. |
