Welcome to Baselight
Baselight is an AI-native data infrastructure platform that solves data fragmentation.
Most professionals waste time switching between multiple data sources – government databases, research portals, market reports, and internal tools. Baselight consolidates everything into one universal hub and allows you to query it using natural language.
What you can do on Baselight
- Query 70,000+ datasets without switching tools
- Get zero-hallucination AI responses with full data provenance
- Write SQL queries in Baselight Studio
- Upload and analyze custom data alongside public datasets
- Create charts and dashboards from query results
Products overview
Baselight consists of three main products:
- Baselight AI – a natural language interface for querying data. Ask questions in plain English and get accurate answers backed by real data sources.
- Baselight Catalog – a collection of 70,000+ public and private datasets spanning multiple categories: finance, healthcare, sports, government data, and more.
- Baselight Studio – an analysis workspace where you write SQL queries, explore data, and create visualizations.
These products work together. Browse the Catalog, continue with a natural language question in Baselight AI, refine it with SQL in Studio, and visualize results in dashboards.
How to navigate Baselight?
Baselight has three main sections, accessible from the top navigation:
- Chat – the Baselight AI interface. Type a question and get answers backed by real data. Your recent conversations are listed on the left.
- Discover – the public face of the Baselight Catalog. Browse and search 70,000+ datasets, explore SQL queries published by other users, and find public dashboards from the community. Use it to find data or get inspiration from what others have built.
- Build – your personal workspace, also known as Baselight Studio. My Datasets shows your uploaded data. My Queries holds your saved SQL queries. My Dashboards is where you manage your dashboards. Everything here is private by default, but you can make individual items public.

How to get started?
- Create an account – visit baselight.app and sign up with your email.
- Explore the Catalog – browse datasets by category or search for specific topics. Each dataset includes metadata about source, update frequency, and structure.
- Run your first query – use Baselight AI to ask a question in natural language, or jump into Studio to write SQL directly.
- Upload custom data – bring your own datasets to analyze alongside public data. Baselight supports CSV and other standard formats.
- Connect via MCP – integrate Baselight into AI workflows using the Model Context Protocol server.
