Diversity, justice, and equity are more than just words at BALANCE – they are integral to our commitment to eating disorder treatment accessibility.
A company is only as strong as its culture and community. Our dedication to inclusion is unwavering– spanning across race, gender, size, age, religion, sexual identity, and experience.
As an equal-opportunity employer, BALANCE is determined to promote diversity and inclusion year-round.
INCLUSION IS HOW WE EMBRACE THE STRENGTH OF DIVERSITY.
BALANCE Programs are in-network with Cigna and UHC!
As a part of our initiative to make BALANCE’s care more accessible, we obtained our OMH licensure and JAICHO certification. Now our out-of-network clients can see increased insurance reimbursement via out-of-network benefits with other insurance.
We are excited to announce that we are able to provide in-network care for our clients under these major insurance carriers.
BALANCE Programs are not only in-network with UHC and Cigna, but our team works with Aetna, Carelon, HealthFirst, and other insurance plans on a case-by-case basis.
Embark on the path to healing in our safe and supportive treatment environment.
At BALANCE, we believe that true healing happens when we embrace one another’s unique identities and gifts. That is why we prioritize eating disorder treatment accessibility by offering inclusive care and creating a safe space for our clients to recover.
LGBTQIA+:
Statistics show that the LGBTQIA+ community experiences a higher prevalence of eating disorders than the general population. At BALANCE our staff and clients’ gender and sexual identities are affirmed, respected, and celebrated.
SIZE DIVERSITY:
All of our staff utilize a Health At Every Size approach, meaning that body size is not an indicator of health. Our treatment model does not change based on body size, ensuring all clients receive the same quality of care without weight or BMI bias.
MOBILITY ACCESS:
BALANCE is an ADA-compliant mental health facility. Our facility provides wheelchair and mobility-aid accessibility, accessible restroom facilities, and many other equal-access accommodations.
NEURODIVERSITY:
Our staff is trained in the most up-to-date and supportive methods for treating neurodiverse clients, such as those with autism or ADHD.
ANTI-RACISM:
The BIPOC community is largely underrepresented in eating disorder recovery and media messaging. At BALANCE, we acknowledge this gap and strive towards culturally-informed and responsive care. We are, and always will be, committed to taking an anti-racist stance.
At BALANCE, we see treatment as a collaborative process, emphasizing eating disorder treatment accessibility. We celebrate and appreciate our diverse referral network. To join our network, please complete our referral form, which can be found here.
Our intake process provides expert guidance for determining the best treatment path for you. We strive to take the confusion and overwhelm out of the process.
