Our Mission

Our Mission is to impact 100,000 lives by 2030.

Building a Better Future Together

At Avana, our mission is more than a number, it is a commitment to meaningful change. We believe everyone deserves access to safe, supportive, and affordable housing. To impact 100,000 lives by 2030, we focus our energy on the communities we serve, building with purpose and compassion.

Empowering women and children to break free from cycles of violence and poverty is at the heart of our work. We do this through advocacy, financial support, partnerships, and direct action. Our team is proud to align with organizations that share our values and drive toward a more equitable future.

Community Impact in Action

We drive change through charitable giving and long-term affordable housing initiatives. We build more than homes, we invest in the people who live in them and strengthen the services and organizations that support our communities.

Sponsorships & Partnerships

YWCA Regina – Walk A Mile in Their Shoes

Avana is proud to be the presenting sponsor for YWCA’s Walk a Mile in Their Shoes. All funds raised during this event support the YWCA Regina’s Isabel Johnson Shelter, which provides critical 24/7 services, including counselling, safety planning, and housing assistance for survivors of domestic violence, welcoming all women, including transgender women.

“Avana and YWCA Regina share a passion for supporting and helping end intimate partner violence. We would like to thank the YWCA team for their dedication to community safety and support through events like this. Your actions inspire us daily.”

International Women's Day & Year-Round Support for Women

In a groundbreaking partnership, Avana and SOFIA House are delivering long-term, affordable housing to women and children fleeing intimate partner violence. This initiative includes 39 dedicated suites as part of a 116-unit development in Regina, supported by the Federal Government and the City of Regina.

“There is a very high need for long-term supportive housing for survivors of violence in our community… Avana has continued to step up for our community.”

Tamira Marchment, Executive Director, SOFIA House

Avana provides capital resources and operational funding, while SOFIA House delivers culturally responsive programming, shelter, and counselling. This partnership reflects our shared belief that everyone deserves safety, dignity, and the chance to thrive.

Our Ongoing Commitment

We’re proud of the homes that we have built so far with more than 1,100 in Regina and Edmonton, with over 70% designated as affordable. But our mission is far from over.

We’ll continue to work toward our goal of impacting 100,000 lives by 2030 by:

  • Deepening partnerships with purpose-led organizations
  • Investing in housing that lifts people up
  • Sponsoring and supporting programs that directly change lives

Together with our partners and residents, we’re not just developing homes. We’re shaping futures.

The Path Forward

Every project. Every partnership. Every person.

Everything we do is guided by one simple goal:

To impact 100,000 lives by 2030.

I am beyond grateful to Avana for their unwavering generosity and support. Avana has gone above and beyond by providing pizza for multiple schools, providing students and their families with thoughtful gifts, and even publishing books written by our students, empowering them to see themselves as authors. Their donations of literacy games and books have enriched our classrooms, helping to foster a lifelong love of reading.

Avana’s commitment to giving back has made a real difference in our community. I am incredibly thankful for their time, resources, and genuine care. Thank you, Avana!
