It installs the components needed for the operating system to recognize Atmel development tools and USB‑enabled microcontrollers, allowing you to program, debug, and update firmware over USB with minimal setup.

Designed for developers working with AVR and ARM-based SAM devices, Atmel USB streamlines device detection, ensures stable data transfer, and supports common use cases such as bootloader (DFU) updates and virtual COM ports.
