ISO Certification

OUR PROCESS

ISO Certification

Our Unique Approach to assessing conformity

Unlike most other Certification Bodies, ATLAS Certification prefers to employ its auditors as full-time employees. Not only does that enable us to invest in their continued development and training, it also assist in enhancing consistency between Auditors and their approach. Another great benefit is that our team of Auditors is reasonable stable and we can usually assign an Auditor that already knows the client and its processes and people.

ATLAS Certification auditors are trained not to just conduct a ‘clause-by-clause’ assessment against the Standards, but also consider the overall effectiveness of the process. Ultimately, it is more important that a process is effective for the client than it is to ‘tick boxes’.

The Certification Process

Your Step-by-Step Journey to ISO Certification

At ATLAS Certification, we make the path to ISO certification clear and manageable. Here's a breakdown of our comprehensive 7-step process:

1. Contact us

Pick up the phone, drop us an email or request a quote by clicking one of the many the buttons on this site.

We will collect some information from you, learn a little bit about you and what it is that you do as a company.

2. Proposal

Once we understand what you need we will prepare an accurate Proposal for you, detailing the costs to be expected for the first 3 year period.

We are quite efficient in processing enquiries and typically are able to provide a quote within 24 hours.

3. Application

When you like what you see and are happy to proceed, simply accept our proposal and we will contact you to get the ball rolling.

You will then also receive detailed instructions on each step of the process.

In any case, our friendly team is never more than a phone call or email away to guide you through things!

4. Stage 1 Audit

The Stage 1 Audit is essentially a check to evaluate your readiness for the Certification Audit (Stage 2).

You cannot ‘fail’ a Stage 1 Audit (or any Audit for that matter) but we may identify areas where improvement is recommended or needed before moving to the next Stage.

You will receive a detailed Audit Report following the Stage 1 Audit.

Typically, we are able to conduct a Stage 1 Audit within a matter of days after you lodge your Application with us. But you can take as long as you need to.

5. Stage 2 Audit

Our friendly Auditors will guide you through the process. They will ask (lots of) questions, go through some documents and look at how things are done within your organisation. This may include interviews with managers and staff as well as visits to work locations (if applicable). Very important to remember: the aim of the Audit is NOT to identify ‘non-conformities’ but rather to find evidence of conformity.

6. !!!Certification!!!

Once the audit has been successfully completed (or any identified issues actioned), we will grant Certification and provide you with a Certificate of Registration.

We will also register your details on the JASANZ register and on the IAFSearch page. This is where stakeholders can verify that you are certified by an accredited Certification Body.

7. Continuation and renewal

Certifications will typically be valid for three years, however, we will continue to conduct Audits at least annually. These are known as ‘Surveillance Audits’ and are typically much shorter than the Stage 2 Audit. Once every 3 years, we will conduct a ‘Re-Certification Audit’ followed by issuing a new Certificate for the next 3 years.
