Astroma

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Overview

Astroma is a Vedic astrology insights, chat, and reports product. We care about your privacy and try to collect only what we need to generate your charts, reports, and personalized guidance. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information. We use Clerk to handle sign-up and sign-in. Clerk stores your email address, optional name, profile image, and authentication identifiers (e.g. Google sign-in linkage). We do not store your password ourselves.
  • Birth data. When you create a profile, you provide details such as name, date, time, and place of birth. These are required to compute astrology charts and astrocartography lines.
  • Chat messages. Messages you send to the Astroma AI assistant, and the assistant's replies, are stored so you can return to your conversations.
  • Generated reports. Reports we generate for your profiles are stored and associated with your account so you can access them again.
  • Astrocartography selections. If you search or pin cities on the astrocartography map, we may save those alongside your chats and profile.
  • Basic usage and device data. We collect minimal technical data (such as request logs, device type, and approximate location derived from IP) for security, abuse prevention, and to keep the service running.

How we use your data

  • To compute your Vedic chart, dashas, transits, and related insights.
  • To generate astrology reports and to power the AI chat assistant's responses.
  • To render astrocartography lines and map features.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the product — for example, to debug errors and prevent abuse.
  • To communicate with you about your account or significant changes to the service.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your birth data or chat content for advertising.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the third-party providers we need to run Astroma:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • AI provider(s) — we send chat messages and the relevant chart context to an AI model provider to generate responses. Providers may process this content under their own terms but are not permitted to use it to train models on your data without your consent.
  • Infrastructure providers — hosting, database, email, and error-monitoring vendors that help us run the service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Astroma, our users, or others.

Data retention

We keep your profile, birth data, chats, and reports for as long as your account is active. If you delete a profile or your account, the associated data is removed from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or backup purposes.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA. We aim to honor those requests for all users.

Children

Astroma is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe and to respond promptly to incidents.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
