Beginning in January-February, we start conjugating to group up and begin writing science policy briefs or memos for competition! Most of the time this is either the National Science Policy Network’s (NSPN) competition or a call put out by the Journal of Science Policy and Governance (JSPG). Similar to academia, publications are currency in the field and is one of the biggest ways to build your resume. A great activity for both science policy novices and experienced members, you will not only develop an understanding of this particular writing style but also take a much deeper dive into a particular subject than you ever have!
