01
Feasibility Study
Before the first pod is installed, our team assesses your vessel’s specific requirements. Through a detailed feasibility study, we conduct an computational fluid dynamic analysis to identify the optimal system configuration including the quantity of pods and refined hydrodynamic hull positioning. This study ensures a tailored design to meet the unique needs of your ship while maximizing efficiency. The result? A setup designed to meet your goals while enhancing operational performance.
02
Engineering and Integration Design
Once the pod configuration is finalized and agreed with the owner, we assess optimal integration approaches working hand in hand with the owners nominated classification society. This process ensures both streamlined and compliant integration of PALS into your existing ship systems and structure. Whether it’s cabling, electrical systems, or mechanical installations, we will lead on all aspects of the integration process, ensuring a precise and smooth adaptation to your vessel’s existing structure.
03
Class Approval Assistance
Directing Class approval processes can be challenging, so we’re here to simplify it. Depending on your requirements, Armada will ensure that the PALS technology meets classification society standards and installation guidelines. We can assist you at every stage to achieve full compliance quickly and efficiently. Armada has strong working relationships with a number of IACS member classification societies and a proven track record of delivering plan approval both swiftly and with minimal comment clarification cycles.
04
Vessel Integration
Armada recommends an Armada project engineer attends the on-site installation within the dry dock. This enables us to supervise the overall process as needed per client requirements. PALS and its associated equipment will arrive at the dockside, ready for installation. Installation can typically be completed in under seven days while the vessel is on blocks. The remaining setup can be finalized with the ship moored alongside, or even post departure of the vessel, eliminating the need to wait until the standard five-year renewal survey. This streamlined approach saves valuable time, guaranteeing minimal delays while deploying the system.
05
Commissioning and Handover
Following installation, we commission PALS system to ensure it performs flawlessly before handing it over to you. This phase involves rigorous testing to ensure the system operates in a fully automatic mode, whilst ensuring compliance with Class requirements. We take pride in ensuring full compliance and providing you with a fully operational system that’s ready to go from day one.
06
