About

Our journey has always been about pushing boundaries

Our story

ARC Power was founded with a clear mission: to bring reliable, sustainable electricity to rural communities across Africa, not just to power a few light bulbs and charge a mobile phone, but to unlock economic potential, enable entrepreneurship, and transform lives.

From the beginning, we believed that energy access should be a catalyst for opportunity, enabling communities to build businesses, improve education and healthcare, and take ownership of their own development.

Starting in Rwanda, we quickly became the country’s largest mini-grid developer, demonstrating that innovative, off-grid solutions could deliver real impact at scale.

We later expanded to Mozambique, where we built the country’s first-ever privately operated mini-grid, setting a benchmark for energy access in the region.

Today, ARC Power pioneers innovative solutions to deliver energy access on a much larger-scale, with the ambition of delivering first-time power to everyone throughout Africa.

Our ground-breaking FUSE model is a key component, supporting national utilities in the rapid expansion of grid and solar access, leveraging private capital and flexible deployment models.

Highly scalable, FUSE works in alignment with governments and the World Bank’s M300 initiative to bring electricity to 300 million people by 2030. It provides the infrastructure for long-term grid stability supporting a transition towards decarbonisation within the region.

Our approach

ARC Power is not an EPC. We are a development partner focused on the provision of energy access, working strategically to align with demand, optimising grid expansion, increased generation capacity and customer accessibility.

With expertise in technology, project development, execution and operations, we have developed ground-breaking partnerships with local government and investors to develop scalable solutions that support ambitious growth targets and a transition towards decarbonisation of the region.
