The proposal for a ‘multi-gigawatt’ data centre near Aberdeen has prompted quite a bit of press. We had comments in articles in The Herald, The National and in the Scotsman.

The developer of a 212MW hyperscale AI data centre at the Gyle Edinburgh which was turned down by the Council Planning Committee in February have appealed the decision.

Today The National published an article about the companies which are planning to build hyperscale AI data centres in Scotland. Outlined the business models of land speculation and that just two companies are proposing, between them, data centres which, if built, would double Scotland’s peak energy demand.
